Here is what it says now when I push the "Proceed to Booking" button:
The following error(s) occured

Our lowest fares are not available for the destination and date requested. Please return to the homepage and click on the ?search by schedule? button to find our most attractive fares. (5685 - 2201)

CX not available in RTW tool ?!

I am trying to find a LONE in March PVG-FRA-TXL-GDL-PVG
I can find flights for all segments except CX/KA is never offered out of PVG.
Even adding HKG as a separate stop does not force CX or KA.

EF shows L class availability for both legs PVG HKG FRA

It won't be a big problem, as I will just ask our travel agent to do it, but it seems strange that CX is not even offered on PVG HKG

First of all, your routing isnt really complete. You would have to do something along the lines of:

PVG-hkg-FRA-TXL-mia-dfw-GDL-dfw-PVG.

Even so, you would have only 8 out of 16 allowed segments

You dont need to get a travel agent involved unless you want to. You can use Skype or similar to call AAs Around-the-World desk on 1-800-247-3247, ask them to book your journey for you, ask them to price it in Chinese currency, and then buy it wherever you normally buy AA tickets where you are. You could also ask them to price it in HKG dollars and buy over the phone from AA in Hong Kong as described in post 20 of the thread "LCIR29SA ex-HKG". You would still have to pay the ex-PVG price though.

It has begun. I'm trying to finally book my LONE4 and got the infamous 15012-118 error, which is probably because it's being ticketed by AA but the first flight is on CQ (from AMS), it's my only option.

I suppose there's no way around this and the only option is to call the RTW desk? Should I call AA or CX?
Am I supposed to pay a handling fee because of this?

There shouldn't be a handling fee. If you call AA please report back what price they give you. It will be interesting to see if it matches the online tool or priced in USD like I was told.

Called today and got very good service.
However I just noted that the price has increased quite a lot to be honest, and I'm not very amused with it.
Initially it was 6511 for 2 people, now it's 6758, both quoted in euro.

EDIT: Just off the phone with RTW desk, the ticketing agent didn't really know what I was talking about and said she couldn't do anything. Her best advice was to get it quoted by Qantas, the website owner (really, is that true? :S).

Dear FT: what's the best strategy, or is there no strategy to solve this?

No need to judge me. A 4% increase is significant, so a little more information about it by AA would be appreciated and then I'll probably just accept it anyways.

I guessing it is fuel surcharge (YQ or YR) that AA is adding in. Ask for a break down on the taxes and fuel surcharges and compare with the website. Since it is 2 tickets you are looking at an increase of about 123 euro per ticket.

Thanks for helping me through this. The ticketing agent I spoke to said that she couldn't see any information about taxes/surcharges... only the base fee and the total amount of taxes. Was she wrong, or is it only possible if she asks for it specifically at the calculating department?

Given its reputation, I'm actually expecting the BA flight (GIG-AMS) at the end to be the culprit of extra surcharges. However, I now changed my first flight (impossible to find on the tool, but of course readily available) to a different destination and MA instead of CX. I'm curious about what the difference will be.

EDIT: Switched my schedule, earning more miles and keeping the same stops (but different order). I got it down to 6715 euro and better flights for mileage (AMS-KUL on MA instead of AMS-HKG on CX). So that's the one we're going to order.
New fare didn't appear for 2 days. Called back an hour ago and the TA sent it back on 'rush' and got a quote within 30 minutes. Now hoping the payment goes well.

I'm aware that are no direct flights for most segments, but the point of the online tool is to search for them and the tool should offer routings that work and are available.
On the segments form Europe to Mexico and on to China it works as expected, but it does not show CX at all.

As this is the online tool bug thread I felt it is the right place to post about this. As I said it doesn't even offer CX/KA if I add HKG as a city in the tool.

I often have to force connections because the options suggested don't give what I want. I need to do that not just with the xonex tool, but with normal airline site booking forms.

My flight has been 'on request' since December 18. I suppose the Brussels ticketing office is not overly excited about RTW-trips :s.

Edit: finally got a message from AA. There's a problem with my itinerary (just noticed a few flights disappeared). In the message they gave a list of callback numbers, so I did. Obviously they tell me then that I should talk to the RTW desk, who are on holiday today. Wonder how much longer it'll take to finish it all.

I have a 16 segment ex-JNB itinerary DONE5 booked and priced which includes MH92 KUL-LAX in D. It prices beautifully.

CPT-LHR (transfer only)-HEL-MAD-LHR-SYD-NRT-DEL-KUL-LAX-DFW-BOS-MIA-SEA-ORD-DOH-CPT

However, when I try to do the reverse (LAX-NRT-KUL, MH93), it will not allow me anything but L class. This is despite there being D class available. I have tried dates in January, February and March, all which have D availability in ExpertFlyer, but won't allow me an D seat on the flight.

Is it a bug, or have I fallen foul of some rule? I can't seem to find a rule that covers this issue.
