Prices of the various Oneworld products vary greatly depending on the country of origin. Base price for a DONE3 issued in the USA is currently around $10,200 plus taxes/fees.
Substitute Vancouver for the origin point (you'd have to pay to get from SFO to YVR) and see what you get. |
Adding Segments After Starting Travel
I want to add two segments (I currently have 13/16 filled) after starting travel on my DONE4.
Has anyone done this? Is it simply a matter of calling the appropriate desk, providing info, and paying the $125 change fee? Is there anything else I should know or consider? |

As above. If you're lucky they will recalculate all the surcharges and you may find the total is lower than originally due to declining (or totally removed) fuel surcharges. In that case then just the $125 fee.

I have quick question about ex-JNB xONE4. Would it be possible to visit Africa-S.America-N.America-Asia as the four continents and use only one connection (no stopover)in Europe for the first two segments JNB-xMAD-SCL? Or would this force it to become a xONE5 to include Europe? I am not interested to include Europe, and could skip the Middle East as could have HKG-JNB as the last segment. Thanks for your help.

It would be counted as a 5th continent

Yup, it's a DONE5 the moment that you touched Europe to transit through. Even using the DOH transit rules, it would count as touching Europe/Middle East, and it's a DONE5. But in all honesty, the upgraded cost of a DONE5 isn't that much at the moment.
Hopefully with the new JJ non-stop JNB-GRU things will become easier to have a xDONE4 as I intended. I wonder if there has been any indication of when will this flight become operational? I have searched but could only find general comments about it happening in 2016... |

Last I heard LATAM was still seeking approval from the South African government.
I just found out that JJ has a codeshare with SA for their non-stop JNB-GRU. But I guess it would not work for xONEx products, given that there is no mention of allowing SA codeshares in the rule sheet... right? this is the flight: JJ (SA) 8343 JNB - GRU |

It's oneworld operated by oneworld only [JetStar is allowed under QF code] Rule J Code:
J.TRAVEL ON ANY AA/AB/AY/BA/CX/HG/IB/JJ/JL/KA/LA/ |

J.TRAVEL ON ANY AA/AB/AY/BA/CX/HG/IB/JJ/JL/KA/LA/I am confused... JJ is TAM, JQ is Jetstar... correct? TAM is codesharing the SAA JNB-GRU flight... how could the JQ exception help in this scenario..? |
For clarification purposes:
JNB-GRU South African Airlines SA222 (metal) Tam Airlines JJ8343 (codeshare; operated by SA) & JNB-GRU South African Airlines SA224 (metal) Tam Airlines JJ8345 (codeshare; operated by SA) |
Nevermind. Misread your reply, Calchas...! "Certainly not" as in NO codeshares operated by South African Airways and other non-oneworld with the exception of JetStar... makes sense. Thanks!

The fact that JJ has codeshared with SA on the route for so long suggests to me that JJ will make a success of it, they must have access to the passenger numbers. Just waiting for the announcement now. |
