No - you will pay the price as quoted by the on-line tool - as Calchas said.
When I bought my DONE5 through BA's JNB office - the process took about 15 minutes on the phone. I paid for the ticket in Rand using my Australian credit card. (Of course that meant I had to pay a 3% forex fee:() |

I have not tried this for RTW fares, but BA will happily quote in an arbitrary currency converted at the IATA exchange rate, independent of the selling country. I used to buy quite a lot of ex-Norway tickets priced at BGO and priced in GBP. :)
(currently undecided between starting with BA's CPT-LHR or IB's JNB-MAD) |
Trouble with routing
Hi experts... hoping someone can help me... We have done our first Oneworld Explorer and about to book the next ex JNB. We willbe doing JNB-SYD with 4 sectors used by Noumea return and Auckland return... then comes the tricky bit. We need to go to the US in April and Europe in Sept and will use points to break the trip and get back to Melbourne btw these 2 trips... Honolulu is great for a cheap flight or points booking but the restrictions dont let us go from Continental US to Honolulu and back again. Even HNL to LHR has to go via LAX which trips the restriction....
Any ideas? Rough itinerary is: JNB-SYD-Noumea-SYD-AKL-SYD-DFW-ATL-HNL-LHR-ATH-MAD-LHR-JNB... Thanks! |
Can't you just have a surface sector HNL-<continental USA>, then your points redemption can be HNL-MEL-<continental USA>?

I changed the order of your stops, but the following appears completely legal
JNB-SYD-Nou-SYD-AKL-SYD-hnl-DFW-atl-lax-LHR-ATH-MAD-LHR-JNB You still have two segments left over for creativity. If you want to break the journey at the end of the visit to the US you will have to fly to Melbourne from LAX. You could add a round trip from lax to any city in the continental US (no east coast) and leave from there. Or, depending on the time of year, you could add lax-anc-lax. |

Thanks for your help... would need the HNL stop after the US sectors for it to work for us... we can pick up discounted HNL to MEL for 300USD return on special vs 1600 USD LAX-MEL-LAX... I cant see any HNL to Europe direct without going via Continental US... (even tried Guam!)

List of OW Global Explorer Biz Class fares by country
Does any one know where I can find a list of OW Global Explorer fares by country of departure? Which are the cheapest countries to start a RTW ticket in Biz Class at the moment?

The airlines stopped publishing lists due to restrictions on advertising fares that aren't inclusive of fees and taxes. Since each RTW itinerary is different, the taxes and fees will also be different, thus a listing is impractical. "Cheapest" is a moving target, and being ticketed in some countries with cheap prices may be almost impossible. In USD terms, look at the Pyramids and the Skeleton Coast to start. |
Hi All,
Please can I have a routing check on this. MPM-DOH-MEL-LAX-LHR-JNB? Is that acceptable because if so I will call QF and see if they're prepared to issue a ticket ex Mozambique. |

If anyone succeeds at getting an xONE x ticket issued in MPM (or priced at ex-MPM level), please post here.

I'm going to call QF on Monday and I'll report back.

Just tried MPM-...-CPT on the booking tool for an AONE4. Itinerary validated, but it just hangs after flights selected when I click "Price my itinerary"
