If you have not yet ordered from Avon and are aprehensive to use the SORRY code for free shipping, they now offer free shipping on orders of $5 or greater. Use code MDW2009.
For exactly $5, I ordered ergonomic tweezers for my wife. They got a five star review from multiple customers and it is something useful... unlike the Northern Tools saw blades that I keep tossing in the trash!

I think that the Avon poster probably is working on this NWA promotion:

I ordered last week for my account. Today I received a targeted email with the code inviting me to order again. I used it for my wife's account.

I was thinking of an SPG stay also. I wonder if you have to use SPG's "Airline Direct Deposit" option instead of the usual "earn SPG, transfer to airline" approach?
To use Airline Direct Deposit, you have to call SPG and have them change your settings - there's no way to do it online at spg.com as far as I know.
Once set, points automatically become miles and get sent to the airline each stay. That may be what NW needs to see it as a "stay" rather than a "points transfer".
BTW, for anybody SPG/NW folks looking at leaving NW after this promo in light of DL changes to the program - SPG's "Airline Direct Deposit" is the only way to get 1pt=1mile for Continental or United. For those airlines, it's 2pts=1mile if you do it as a transfer.

Just had a Sentry Insurance quote post as 1,000 miles and 1 point in the promo status page. ^
One of my fastest postings with NWA. Maybe I'll try and get 4 afterall...

No, you have to have four different partners. Using e-rewards twice will only net you one partner activity.

Certain ($3) Restaurant.com certs are now $.90 through Thanks Again with the code TASTY. Anyone had experience with points posting from Thanks Again with transactions of less than $1?

mileage xfer double-dipping bonus wrinkle
I asked NW and here is their response:
Dear Evan!,
Thank you for contacting WorldPerks.
You can purchase the miles and receive the applicable bonus and it will
count towards the unique offer under the Pile on the Mile Promotion.
If you have any additional questions, concerns, or need further
assistance, please let us know.
Sincerely,

So in reality it can be combined with other promotions. I think it is just S.O.P. to include a term that excludes combinations... whatever the nature of the promo.Thank you for contacting WorldPerks.

for my situation of transferring low miles kids' accounts to that of a
parent is not as optimal (i.e. credit as bonus partner activity) as it
could be. Warning, boring nit pick ahead:
The reason is that although according to the T&C (at least for NWA)
"Only the purchaser of the miles will be credited the unique partner activity"
makes it seem like the parent will get the credit, since the parent, not
the child, is doing the buy with a CC, but the online setup doesn't work this way!
That is, to xfer miles out of a child's account one must log in as them (it's a "push",
not a "pull", for security reasons), and the account of origin will
get the credit. In this case it's the child's, not the real-life purchaser.
The workaround is to do a transfer "to" as well as a transfer "fro",
but it's not worth $25 extra for a measly 1000 mile partner credit
unless one is jumping a large promo gap, such as landing to 15K
all the way from 8K.

While the T&C say 4-6 weeks, I think my husband had his in under 2 weeks.
Plus, I think they *should* post with the date of the transfer was initiated. I have had lots of things actually post outside the promo period, but back-dated to the date the activity actually happened.
