In time for the summer travel season, Delta Air Lines and American Express are offering new welcome offers ranging from 65,000 to 110,000 bonus miles when opening a consumer or business Gold, Platinum, or Reserve Delta SkyMiles credit card.
Flyers looking to pick up more Delta Air Lines SkyMiles this summer could benefit from new welcome bonuses on the line of American Express co-branded credit cards.

The companies announced an increase in limited-time welcome offers for cardmembers who are approved by July 17, 2024.

Bonuses Range Up to 110,000 Miles with Reserve Business Card

According to an American Express survey, nearly four out of five travelers are expecting to take a long weekend trip this summer, with nearly all of them planning for a three-night stay as the perfect length. To help facilitate that, both the credit card issuer and Delta are temporarily increasing their welcome bonuses for qualifying card members.

For new, qualifying applicants of the Delta SkyMiles Gold American Express Card, flyers can earn 65,000 Bonus Miles after spending $3,000 in purchases on the new Card in the first 6 months of Card Membership. For the Gold Business version, the welcome offer increases to 75,000 bonus SkyMiles after spending $6,000 in purchases on the new Card in the first 6 months of Card Membership.

Moving up to the Delta SkyMiles Platinum American Express card, qualifying flyers can earn 85,000 Bonus Miles after spending $4,000 in purchases on the new Card in the first 6 months of Card Membership, or Earn 95,000 Bonus Miles after spending $8,000 in purchases on the new Card in the first 6 months of Card Membership with the Platinum Business card.

At the highest level, qualifying cardmembers who are approved for the Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express card can earn 95,000 Bonus Miles after spending $6,000 in purchases on the new Card in the first 6 months of Card Membership. For the Reserve Business card, the bonus increases to 110,000 bonus miles after spending $12,000 in purchases on the new Card in the first six months of Card Membership.

As always, terms apply on all the above offers.

In addition to the bonus points, each card comes with valuable benefits to improve their travel experience aboard Delta. Both the Platinum and Reserve cards come with an annual companion certificate, while all cards come with annual statement credits to be used with Resy and rideshares. Finally, all cardholders of the above cards qualify for TakeOff 15, allowing them to save 15% off award travel booked with miles.

All of the above offers end on July 17, 2024.

American Express is bad about unnecessary capitalization, e.g. Card Membership (ugh). Just as certain other Companies (blech) are. Joe, as a journalist you're not bound by their silly style rules and it's better anyway to change to AP or NYT style to show it's not just a reprint of a press release.

What about for us old timers, who already have - and have had for a long time - Delta Amex cards? Do we get any "perks"?
