I just got this message:

The reservation we located is not available for check-in on nwa.com.
Error 804

* There are more than 3 flight segments in your itinerary.
* Please check-in at an airport self-service kiosk or see an airport agent for assistance.

When I tried to check in for my 4-segment outbound to OSL. This is really, really stupid! I hate the new nwa.com. Now I have to arrive at the airport even earlier.

New NWScoop, I have a complaint!

While I agree it is stupid and should be easily corrected, it is not new, just carried over from the old site.

Search for upgradeable fares resluts more than 15K each way.

See: Mileage Upgrade versus Cash+Miles versus straight "First" ticket... nonesense! for specific searches.

Some results have the UG priced at 37,500 total.

Two recent bugs:

First: While searching for a multi-segment trip, I got the following:

"We're sorry, there was a problem processing this search request. (Message 106)"

Which is about as helpful as the error messages from Microsoft......

If the system is going to stay buggy, could someone at least make the error messages more informative??

Second: While trying to buy SEA-LAX and SCL-SEA, I got this message:

"No Northwest Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, or codeshare partner flights were found that matched your request. Try modifying your search options including a change to your cabin class, dates of travel or city pairs. Check our service destinations and routes or search for alternatives on orbitz.com."

So, I can't book it on NWA, but let's go over to Orbitz and find it there. Huh?

Also, when I looked on the PDF timetable, there were codeshares on AS to LAX, as well as codeshares on DL from SCL to ATL, where I know I can get either NW or DL metal back to SEA.

On booking a connection RDU-DTW-SEA, the following message came up next to the DTW-SEA flight:

Operated by D ONLINE CONNECTING TRAFFIC ONLY

Both of the flights were NW mainline.

Nothing new and not really a bug, the fare is only valid XXX-DTW-SEA not just DTW-SEA. I've seen it on both fares I've researched for possible MRs and on actual trips I've taken. I don't think it's actually supposed to show up there, but if it is, the certainly could have worded it better.

The only bug I have really encountered with Nwa.com is when trying to find flights out of TOL. Usually I have to an exact search or search from DTW first and once those results come up type in TOL to get results. I don't know if they are against people flying out of TOL or what but usually once I get it to work I can get cheaper fares out of TOL.

Actually, I just got this error message myself during a multi-city search. What happened was the bull$hit website put my first destination into the first origination city. So I started typing "SEA" in the from box and "NYC" in the to box but the page hadn't finished loading. As soon as the page finished loading, it copied "NYC" to the from box but I didn't notice it. When I clicked 'search' I got returned error 106. I noticed right away that "NYC" was filled in for both the origin and destination making it an invalid search.

I also agree that a more informative message should be shown. Of course, the ubiquitious "No Northwest/KLM or Codeshare Partner flights were found between your destinations" would actually apply here :)

Booked an award trip a couple nights ago for MSP-PRG-MSP over next Christmas. Several segment options (at least 3 or 4) were duplicated. There is enough to wade through without weeding out duplicate choices.

Problem finding WBC when some segments are single class

Looking at international WBC fares originating in SUX which is only serviced by SF3/CRJ with coach only seating.

Searched round-trip/price/business/any_fare_class both SUX-NRT and SUX-AMS for a variety of dates and I get back this message: "No Northwest Airlines or codeshare partner flights were found that matched your request. There may be limited service to or from these cities. Try modifying your search options including a change to your cabin class, dates of travel or city pairs. Check our service destinations and routes or search for alternatives on orbitz.com."

If I search coach, it finds the correct connecting flights. If I do multi-segment/business SUX-MSP-AMS-MSP-SUX it also finds the correct flights showing Y for the SUX-MSP segments and J/C/Z for MSP-AMS segments.

Minimum Connection Times Seemingly Ignored

Looking at some flights, when using multicity, I'm given the option of taking the following combination of flights (if I select them individually):

MSN-CDG...
CDG-AMS on KL2000 (arrives AMS at 8:00 AM)
AMS-DTW on NW39 (departs AMS at 8:00 AM)

I'm pretty sure I'd miss that connection :).

Inconsistent Pricing

Searching MSN-CDG r/t.
With dates 3/9-3/14 +/- 3 days, comes up with $664 for price for 3/8-3/14 on the grid.
With dates 3/8-3/14 +/- 3 days, comes up with $849 for price for 3/8-3/14 on the grid.

That's a ~$200 difference...Using Firefox on Mac, but don't think that it's browser or OS related.

Verified using IE7 on VistaHP:

From
$664
2 Stops

From
$849
1 Stops

Please note the latter search missed the less expensive 2-stop.

Multi-City Search for only 2 city pairs reverts to third pairing if previously used.

Example: Searching MSN-CDG, CDG-TYS after searching 3 and 4 city pairs. Now, despite the fact that I delete the third city pair from the "Flight 3" area, I get a message that says:
"The following date or time comes before a previous date or time. Please modify your search.", since the date box for "Flight 3" automatically sets to a date earlier than my outbound. Tried entering a later date, but that results in a magic reappearance of cities (essentially adding a third city pair that I don't need: eg MSN-CDG, CDG TYS, MSP-TYS) from previous searches. Emptying the cache doesn't solve this problem.

Using Mac 10.3.9 and Safari 1.3.2. (I know, older stuff, but until I add a DVD drive, I can't install 10.4, since that's the copy I have.)

**EDIT: Not sure if it's important, but I was searching by schedule (not by price).

You can no longer check for flights to LIMA PERU

Another of the Foul Ups. for the last 3-4 weeks you can not search for award flights to LIM. I go there several times per year and used to book my travel on NWA.com. Now I have to check availablitiy on Continental's website and then call plat line and book the flights.
I hope the Web managers get FIRED when a merger occurrs
