This is normal behavior. The website should not be saving your last name or PIN number each time you attempt to purchase a ticket. These are security features built into the website. (That is, if I'm understanding your problem correctly).

The only time you will not have to re-enter your last name and PIN are if you are searching for tickets within the same web browser after you have already logged in. As soon as you close the browser and restart it, you will have to re-enter your information. I believe there are ways around this in Firefox but most people are still using IE.

Finally, NWA.com *does* save your login information for the account summary section of your WorldPerks account. That's how you are able to click on "Account Summary" without having to enter this information.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
RM

That is the issue...guess I'll have to research Firefox...thank you RM:cool:

On NWA.COM:

Search for flight:

09/19/07:

MSP - PDX
Select First Class.

Search by schedule:

On some of the flights:

Northwest Airlines 217
operated by
D ONLINE CONNECTING TRAFFIC ONLY

Northwest Airlines 2478
operated by
ONNECTION AND G RESTRICTION -- AS 2239

What are those notes for - I've never seen that on nwa.com.

This wouldn't be a bug because those notes belong there, but they could make it clear what they mean (especially since some letters of some words are cut off).

I can answer this part it (from that page but not in your post) because I'm on that flight on 26 Sep. see below:

Northwest Airlines 2220
operated by
ONNECTION AND G RESTRICTION -- AS 2465

Wed, Sep 19 3:00pm Depart Seattle (SEA) 3:45pm Arrive Portland (PDX)

Date: Wednesday, September 26
Flight: NW 2220/*AS 2465

Departs: Seattle/Tacoma Int'l, WA (SEA) at 3:00PM
Arrives: Portland-Int'l, OR (PDX) at 3:45PM
Class of Service: Economy Class (K) Seat: not assigned
Flight Duration: 45 minutes Approximate Miles: 130
Meal Service: None Aircraft: DH4
Note: *Operated by HORIZON AIR
AS Confirmation Number: xxxxxx
But there is no F on that flight, it's a single class cabin on a turboprop!

NW can only sell tickets on NW2220(QX/AS2465) to connecting pax, the same would be true with the NW2478 example you used.

My guess is that the fare quoted on NW217 is only valid for online connecting pax, in this case SEA/PDX on QX, and they would prohibit you from purchasing it without a connection out of SEA.

log in to search for award flights

I went to nwa.com (main page). I clicked on Award flights, and then on "More Search Options" so that I can log in. From the Award Flights advanced search page, I clicked the login link and was taken to the login page. I logged in and was taken to the advanced search page for PAID flights. It should take me back to the advanced search page for AWARD flights.

It was very annoying because I entered data and when I got all the way at the bottom of the screen I noticed "Search by Price", "Search by Price/Schedule" buttons instead of "Search for Perksaver only", "Search for Best Available". So then I had to click on the award travel tab, and of course all the info was gone and I had to enter everything all over again.

Everyone - just a reminder to please search the main post of this thread to see if your issue/bug has been listed yet or not before posting.

Florin - your bug has already been posted on the main thread - it is the second bullet under the Award Travel section.

Thanks - and please keep the bug reports coming!

Are you doing this from the main nwa.com page or somewhere else on the website? I just tried it from the main nwa.com home page (I use Firefox) and it worked like you suggested it should. Clicked the first calendar to June '08 and selected a random date, then clicked the second calendar and it was already at June '08.

Which operating system and browser are you using?

I found one area where this was a problem: I was checking award availability to HNL from various places for Dec. '07 outbound and Jan. '08 inbound in all case when I used the calendar it came up with either Sep. or Oct. as the starting place for the return and I had to scroll it over to Jan.

As I said in the last reply Ff and Vista, in case it matters.

The calender on the US site is a problem for me
as well, in IE as well as Firefox. The return date
NEVER adjusts automatically to match the dep
date. On the Japan site it works, but recently
it's so slow that I hardly use it anymore.

email to NW, response from US Airways

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm a little confused about this and hope someone has an explanation.
I was missing miles from purchases at the Worldperks mall so I sent an email to customer service. Received a nice note back requesting more information. I gathered the information and sent it back to NW, using the reply button. I then received this note but this time it was signed:

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. We apologize for the delays you have experienced. We have sent an inquiry to the merchant to research your Bonus Miles inquiry and bring resolution to this matter. As soon as we hear from the merchant, we will contact you to advise you of the outcome. We strive to have this matter resolved within 7-10 business days.

Thank you,

Andi

Does anyone have any idea why I am hearing back from US Airways?

I've added this to the master thread - however, I have the same opinion that others had in the thread you started about this. I think the WP Mall customer service is outsourced by a third-party and that third-party is handling customer service for multiple airlines. The person replying to your email just selected the wrong email signature to use.

Thx,
RM

this is precisely why automation often fails and why the airline marketing people should award you the miles you are missing now and then go do battle with their internal and external partners and parties without involving or worrying you or making you wait any longer for their problems. If the end result so illustrates that you should NOT have gotten said miles, then fine. take them back. Heck, NWA is known to do that to people anyway, and sometimes wrongly!

I realize this is a more general issue than just about NWA and I have written to all the airlines repeatedly about it, but still, if one--just one--steps up and makes it right, I am certain everyone will make out better in the end!

I am still wondering if I should go over ALL the mile mishaps they did in my account during a recent promo which actually makes me have an EXTRA 3-5,000 miles on their error!

Ummm, I dunno. I tried to fix it once but they said to wait another 7-10 biz days for word. TWICE. Sorry guys, I guess you lose this one, and any others like it til you fix your bugs here.

Just tried to check-in on line and when I selected the seat map I was re-directed to the Asia site with a "error encountered" message. Something is going on....

When it said 16A, 16A I couldn't figure out why it doubled the seat number, but after the UG on the first one I figured out what it was doing.

The other problem is if I click on the 13Sep one to change the seat, it actually opens up the 11Sep flight and I have to click on the second one from there to get to the correct flight.

Phil2016 Sep 10, 2007 11:33 am

I can't click the seats on any of my upcoming reservations. They're there, just not highlighted. No option under "Seat Assignments/Reconfirm Reservations" drop down menu that has to do with seat assignments.

Based on some of the other posts today, I'm guessing some nwa.com technical difficulties.

If you need to change seats, call the NW elite line (or general res line if you're not elite) as they should be able to change them for you. They don't use nwa.com on their end... ;)

Hopefully the bugs get worked out soon...

Yes, I also had the same problem for the last couple of hours.. Finally got the window stating NWA.COM was having technical problems.......
