:td::td::td:

So NWA completely destroyed its website (one of the best in the industry), replaced it by some crappy "Powered by Orbitz" stuff, backed off after mass complaints in FT, then presented the same crappy site again?

This is not nwa.com. It looks more like nwa.bomb. :(:(

Even if the new site functioned properly, which it doesn't, it still won't let us book a US-EU-EU-US itin like the following combo:

AF MIA-CDG
KL CDG-OSL
CO OSL-MIA

If I search separately for MIA-CDG using default, I get the AF legs showing, then I search OSL-MIA separately by default, and CO shows up as available. But I can't make this combination happen by any method. Then I actually specify AF for MIA-CDG and it says "No flights etc.. are available"..despite what the AF and SkyTeam timetables are telling me, and despite what NWA.COM told me during a default search seconds before!!

Essentially the same thing happened to me on booking DEN-any_hub-CDG//FCO-any_hub-DEN as an award.

I wanted to take advantage of the multi-city functionality to see what might be available to add in a CDG-FCO leg.

When I only did DEN-CDG//FCO-DEN, I had several choices, including:
NW DEN-DTW x/AF DTW-CDG
and several other choices mixing CO, DL, AF, NW, KL

FCO-DEN likewise several choices:
KL FCO-AMS x/NW AMS-MEM x/NW MEM-DEN
KL FCO-AMS x/KL AMS-ATL x/DL ATL-DEN
KL FCO-AMS x/KL AMS-EWR x/CO EWR-DEN

But when I added the CDG-FCO leg, all of a sudden only CO and NW options were available for the outbound to CDG and return from FCO.

I decided to take the train to Rome.

Yes, I probably could call. But I'm not platinum, so getting charged for a reservation by phone due to the insufficiency of the website is no fun, whereas an overnight train with MrsXS sounds like more fun. ;)

Waiting to be chastised for not calling, or for not realizing that NW would of course get me whatever I wanted because the website was not working. Yeah, right. Just try convincing NW that their website is broken. If it shows any flights, they figure it works. :td: No, not calling. Sorry, I just spent 45 minutes on and off hold tonight just to get the infamous "1-time exception" on a schedule change: the late MSP-DEN pushed my return too late to get home from DEN on the last airport shuttle. So I requested the first flight out next day and got passed back and forth being told it was impossible for most of the call, until somebody came to their senses and did it. That's enough time with the "wonderful" NWA call center for me for a while.

Definitely "unexciting". I hope the "real" NW rep on this forum is paying attention to the overall dissatisfaction from this rollout. No, I don't have time to fill out a bug report unless somebody is going to pay me my regular billing rate for QA-related work.

This new website is disgusting (yes, MY opinion).

I can't even search MSP-SEA for tomorrow (12/19). Keeps telling me no NW/KL/partner flights exist. Uhh, try nine direct NW flights exist and all have availability. Yet NWA.com will happily show results for 12/20 and beyond.

I won't even start on the award booking engine.

PS - I will update the master post of this thread when I'm back in Seattle this week.

I may have mentioned it before... My gripe with award travel booking goes something like this (with the new site):

-Check dates. Start selecting things and click through...

-Realize you need to change say, the return date...

-Go back to change just that--having already picked the outbound...

-It does not really want to let me do this. Instead, it makes you start all over from the beginning... Or worse yet, the Website 'freezes up' on you, and you need to pretty much close the browser and start a new one!

Agrevating to say the least. Time consuming too. You'd think in 2007...

Well, you know.

This week I needed to book a trip to CLE from MSP and arrive before Noon. The search on NWA.com gave me the earliest option as a direct flight on NW leaving MSP at 10:30am. It wouldn't offer me any of the direct CO flights or any connections that would get me there in the time I needed. Orbitz easily put me through on a NW connection through DTW that arrived at 11am. How frustrating that I couldn't just get this option on NWA.com - I wanted my Worldperks Visa booking bonus.

Award Travel booking frustration

I am fed up after wasting a better part of an hour trying to figure out how to use this new improved site for award travel.

Somehow got it to show up one time a monthly calendar of availability and it showed there were not std (or "saver") awards for the entire month of may from was to vie. Never could figure out how to get it to show up again. Go to AA.com and I can see everything clearly within 1 minute there, about 75% of dates are available at the std. award level with them. I have completely lost hope on booking an award ticket with NW online anymore.

I would like to ask NW to set up a dedicated toll-free technical support line to assist customers with online booking problems until they get their new website reasonably functional.

After I did a search, at the top of the results page was a calendar option. However, from what's being reported on DISCUSSION: Northwest Relaunches new nwa.com Booking Engine [11/30/2007] , finding the calendar might just be the beginning of yet another problem - its accuracy.

Another answer might be to call the GE line and have them transfer you to tech support for online booking assistance. I've found I can cut my waiting time down considerably by calling the SE# and having them transfer my call, and booking assistance should be a higher queue in itself.

Sorry if there are previous similar posts like this. But I am
so fed up now. I am trying to research a normal NRT-FRA
routing for January. Besides the fact that the calender disappears
every time I click on it, it offers me Air China flights and ANA
flights to PEK then connect to KL. If I try to force it through
a DTW connection it will offer me LH flights from DTW to FRA,
all in Biz class for $ 8k+. If I try to force a SEA, MSP or HNL
connection it will display the dreaded "No Northwest Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, or codeshare partner flights were found that matched your request. There may be limited service to or from these cities." Duuuuuh!
How many times do I see this message when we all know for sure that
there are NW/KL flights? It's plain ridiculous. The Tokyo phone line operates only during regular Japanese working hours and not Sundays. This is rather frustrating. I guess nothing will be done this weekend unless I can make
it work thru DL.

MikeMpls Dec 22, 2007 6:47 pm

I have spent 2+ hours trying to book an award trip (MSP-TPA) using my WP Visa Cert. Most recently the (*&*)(#$& web page timed out losing both the search and my login, i.e. I get to start over.

This new web site is absolutely pathetic.

NW Scoop, are you reading these posts? Mark this date on your calendar: Dec. 31, 2007. That's the date our 2007 records will be faxed to UA for comps if this sucky website isn't fixed.

We do most of our domestic travel on DL. UA will do almost as well, actually the elite+ seating is just fine. I need nwa.com about 80% for award travel and 20% for international travel. This sucky new web site just isn't working out for us at all.

MikeMpls Dec 22, 2007 8:16 pm

I gave up at the 3 hour point and booked the trip on delta.com & used up some residual vouchers. Of course that means another 14-15K banked miles to be spent somehow on nwa.com.

:td::td::td::td: nwa.com booking :td::td::td::td:

nwa.com

It is at the point where I have a Tylenol ready when I know that the "new" nwa.com will need to be used. Frankly, I just don't bother and use another search engine; i.e. kayak, orbitz, etc; and generally the result is other carriers as well.

Talk about a major screw up. Who was the putz who decided on this?? They sure f'ed up what was generally considered one of the best sites in the industry. You know when united.com is more functional, someone REALLY screwed up :)

Exleftseat Dec 24, 2007 1:07 pm

How about this one? There must be a better way than the
way-too-often "No Northwest Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines,
or codeshare partner flights were found that matched your request"
message. Trying to book a simple HNL-LAS-HNL r/t 4/16-4/21.
Tried the price and schedule option; both searches returned
the dreaded No... message. Duuuuuh. How about NW 802/628
and 627/803? How about the fact that the NW is powered by
Orbitz? Orbitz not only showed the above option, but also
NW 627/803 and 774/319 thru MSP, a much better mileage
option, yet at the same price. Can someone make sense out
of this???

MikeMpls Dec 25, 2007 9:48 am

Performance and timing out continues to be an issue. After a couple "good" searchs late Sunday night (just checking award availbility, then had to wait for WifeMpls to make her choice), I tried to book one of the itins starting about 8:30 last night.

I couldn't get the login screen to plot, gave up and went to bed, left computer running.

Somewhat better this morning, login screen was plotted, logged in, search response was slowed & my login timed out, had to start over. Still somewhat slow but got the itin booked.

This is not a quality customer experience. I will have one more (Europe in fall) to book later this week.

MikeMpls Dec 25, 2007 12:08 pm

The award tickets that I purchased earlier show up in neither my WP account nor my wife's. Apparently the new booking engine neglected to insert the WP numbers, despite the fact that my profile includes complete info for both of us.

From the "Trip Summary and Receipt" email:

NWA Confirmation Number: xxxxxx
Passenger Name E-Ticket Number Frequent Flyer Number
MPLS/MIKE.M 012xxxxxxxxxx none
MPLS/WIFE.M 012xxxxxxxxxx none

So I have to go thru some extra steps to get the itin in our accounts & enter the WP numbers.... :td::td::td:
