yes, in this case we DO want that to happen but you must also tab thru to the PIN field.

In my case--and on more than one computer--I have also seen this:

you begin typing, say, your FF number or name and it does not go into the field you are in, rather, you look down on the page and somehow your cursor has jumped to one of the fields of "Manage My Reservations" and something like half of your info is in one are and half in the other. If you dont catch it while typing, you get a log in error.

This usually happens when you start typing before the page finishes loading completely. Even if it looks like the page has loaded, if it's still loading an image or something in the background, it often times does "jump" somewhere else. Just make sure the page is finished loading.

The date popup on return reservations

When you are making a reservations and click say 6 months out or the outbound. When you like the return date the date popup shows the current month. It is annoying. The return date popup should look at the outbound and automatically start at the month of the outbound reservation.

nearby airports

Nwa.com has the option to search nearby airports within x amount of miles. I've NEVER seen that work. I was just trying to buy a DAY-BOS RT and I wanted it to search for airports within 100 miles for both origin and destination. I was hoping I would get lots of options combining DAY/CVG/CMH - BOS/PVD. I only got 4 or 5 options for the outbound flight, all DAY-BOS. The same for the return. Whereas kayak works beautifully with nearby airports, this option is utterly useless at nwa.com.:(

heh - maybe NWA knows that in new England, 100 miles is not the thing to go by... In other words, around here, driving 25 miles could take you over an hour some times, so it could have gone by traffic and the idiot factor on the highways rather than actual distance by miles. This would put aiports like PVD and MHT to the north soooo far away, that in actuality, they'd be more like "cities NOT within 100 miles" in any other part of the known universe. So therefore, your search fro cities within 100 miles would have come up blank and they would have been right to have not shown you nuthin.

:D

Are you doing this from the main nwa.com page or somewhere else on the website? I just tried it from the main nwa.com home page (I use Firefox) and it worked like you suggested it should. Clicked the first calendar to June '08 and selected a random date, then clicked the second calendar and it was already at June '08.

Which operating system and browser are you using?

I've had it work sometimes and then other times it starts with the current month - I don't know if it's on pages other than the main page or not, but it's really annoying when the return starts three months before your departure date.

BTW, I'm using the latest ff and vista.

When searching for flights the ONLY option I get is "search by Price". What's happened to search by schedule???

No, they're still there.

On the homepage you can search by price or by price & schedule. If you click the "More Search Options" link below that form, you'll be taken to this page where you can search by price, by schedule, or by price & schedule.

Booking Engine Woes

Grr, this is really getting to me. A family friend has moved to Eureka, CA and I want to visit her from 9/8 -9/11. NW has a fare from MSP-ACV (Eureka/Arcata, CA) for $400-something. Fine. Try to book it. No dice, even though the logical routing is MSP-LAX/PDX on NW, and then LAX/PDX-RDD-ACV on AS. PDX-RDD-ACV even share the same AS flight number. But what do I get?

No Northwest Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, or codeshare partner flights were found between Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN (MSP) and Portland, OR (PDX). Check our service destinations and routes or search for alternatives on our partner sites, listed below.
This is getting irritating. Please fix it. The link below this quoted error message says "Search on Orbitz.com". When I click it, the ideal itinerary pops up on Orbitz immediately. Isn't nwa.com powered by Orbitz? What's the deal? Scoop??

Agreed on booking engine issues:

Trying to book itinerary between MKE-BOS (MKE-MEM-MSP-BOS-MSP-MKE). Search by price from multi-city. Get three results. One for $220ish, one for $350ish and one for $990ish. Click on the first one, and get the following message:

The flight you selected is currently not available. Please make another selection. (Message 101)
Click on the second one:

The flight you selected is currently not available. Please make another selection. (Message 101)
Click on the final one:

We're sorry, but no flight results were found.

Please adjust dates, times and/or airports and try again.

Use an availabilty tool to see if you have the married segments available you're trying to book. See this post in this thread.

Saved Login doesn't actually SAVE

When looking for flights and clicking a chosen one, the next window always asks for my Login info and has the "Remember my WorldPerks Account Number" box that I check. However, it NEVER saves my info when I search for additional flights. Anyone else experience that??

Shouldn't nwa.com do this for you?? I would call it a bug to display prices that are not available for purchase.

This is normal behavior. The website should not be saving your last name or PIN number each time you attempt to purchase a ticket. These are security features built into the website. (That is, if I'm understanding your problem correctly).

The only time you will not have to re-enter your last name and PIN are if you are searching for tickets within the same web browser after you have already logged in. As soon as you close the browser and restart it, you will have to re-enter your information. I believe there are ways around this in Firefox but most people are still using IE.

Finally, NWA.com *does* save your login information for the account summary section of your WorldPerks account. That's how you are able to click on "Account Summary" without having to enter this information.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
RM
