Weekend Search

currently weekend search goes forward by 1 mo....that is, if you try to search fares for weekend in JANUARY, the results are shown for FEBRUARY

NW has a long way to clean up the mess !

Looks like some of these past posts are actually bugs/issues/wishlist items. Thanks. I'll update the master thread shortly.

Another really annoying bug: when manually entering a date on the new search page (not the homepage), you must enter two digits for the month. If you attempt to enter "1/8/08", it auto-changes the date to today. If you enter "01/08/08", the page is happy.

Edit: and another one. When you search for a mileage upgrade ticket using "schedule", the results page shows you the fare but doesn't give you a clue how many miles will be deducted. Not until you get to the itinerary page after you select your flights do you know how many miles will be deducted. If you search by price, the mileage is apparent right up front.

Even worse than this is when you enter: 1/24/08
It will automatically switch that to 01/04/08 (I'm guessing since "4" is the third number that it comes across??? I can't imagine that whoever programed this would have made the assumption that everyone would enter mm/dd/yyyy format every time???

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, with the multi-city search, the most annoying part for me is that if you search, for example: MKE-MEM,MEM-DTW,DTW-SEA,SEA-MEM,MEM-MKE as your five segments, that it automatically lumps MKE-MEM-DTW into one of the "Choose this flight" options. Then, if you choose that first MKE-MEM-DTW segment, it still requires that you next choose a MEM-DTW segment since that is the next segment that you entered in your search (even though that leg is already covered in the first selection). Since we can no longer do multi-city by schedule, this really sucks (for lack of a better term)! Orbitz is getting a lot of business from me all of a sudden (which is really frustrating when you have vouchers/discount codes, etc. to use)... Note to NW, model your multi-city search after theirs!!!

Also, multi-city searches with the non-stop option checked often result in the following error message:
Failed to convert property value of type [java.lang.String[]] to required type [boolean] for property nonStopOnly; nested exception is java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid boolean value [on,on,on,on]

They must be doing some kind of maintenance on nwa.com at the moment. At first the drop down links all were broken links, then trying to view my account overview had issues, and now the front page gives a big "Not Found" error.

Perhaps the error message is correct and nwa.com is "either outdated" or "inaccurate". :p

People have reported similar outages during the wee hours of certain days in the past. As someone in the IT world, I know that companies do try and perform maintenance late at night/early in the morning, so I would chalk it up to that possibility.

I wouldn't. A website like nwa.com should be functional 24/7.

C'mon, Mike. You have to be realistic. Some changes just cannot be made while the system is online.

Do you put up with online banking's routine maintenance windows? My bank goes offline from 9-9:30pm every Monday night for routine maintenance. They explicitly state it. Scheduled/routine downtime is a part of the demanding IT world these days. The companies that excel at IT, however, minimize that downtime as much as possible.

Cannot access WP Mall

I have been trying all morning to access the WP Mall and have only been able to get in once.
What is driving me crazy is the fact that you cannot just close out a store and go back to the Mall Home page. If you close out a store it also closes the NW website and you have to start all over again, logging in etc...Is there a way around this?

Funny you should mention Orbitz. If you look at the bottom of their new flight search page you will see that it is:
"powered by Orbitz Technology"
:D

Not sure if this was logged:

Having issues with OLCI from the home page, yet works from the MyReservations page.

More Search Options -> When -> Depart -> {anything but "anytime"} failing.

Many flights missing, when searching by schedule.

past itineraries?

So what happened to the ability to see old itineraries? I found the tab for it, logged in, found the list of old itineraries ok. But when I click on one, the system is not able to retrieve it. Gotta love the new website!!!

Guys, I'm unable to make either of these errors happen so I have not listed them on the list in the main post. Let me know if these are still bugs for you. (GBadger - be sure to mention the web browser that you're using if the error occurs).

Thanks,
RM

To get the Javascript error:

Search MultiCity, EAU->DTW,DTW->MCO on 1/16, then MCO->DTW,DTW->EAU on 1/23. Results come up. The click on 'Modify Search'. Should get your error.

I used to be able to book complex Asia to EU flights on both the NWA.com and NWA.com/sg, and find both paid and award results. Now I have problems getting very basic searches to yield any results for paid tickets. So I am easily able to find my wife an award ticket but cannot get the search engine to return results for a paid WBC ticket. It looks like these tix are now bookable only at KLM if one wants to pay.
