20K miles + $125 Bonus + $25 referral Bonus

I just opened a new account today AND was able to stack the coupons for the Continental OnePass bonus miles and $150. I also got free checks. The key to the free checking is that you need to open a Chase Premier Checking account, which involves having at least $15K combined balances in Chase accounts (checking, savings, CDs, money markets, loans, credit cards). My citibank branch is closing, so it didn't matter that i moved all my accounts to Chase.

I just received my 3rd statement. It says on the top of page 2:
"Your Chase Free Checking monthly service fee was waived because you had a direct deposit during the statement period."

So the ING direct $5 automatic transfer counts as a direct deposit. I also had a Paypal deposit from a Kiva Loan that paid back. I am still waiting for more than the 2500 miles posted so far.

Can I ask you have your gotten your statement for the 3rd period as of yet? I ask about the 3rd since Chase wasnt suppose to charge if Direct Deposit wasnt set up for the 1st 60 days or periods 1 & 2. From the 3rd onwards there is a per month charge, so Im wondering if the ING or PayPal really counts in the end. It might go thru as ACH but really the only way to know is if Chase doesnt charge the per month fee from the 3rd Period onwards. So if Chase does in fact charge that would mean Chase doesnt accept the ACH as being a DD

otherwise $25 for 2500 miles is gonna be an expensive purchase of miles.

I realize taht your 3rd period hasnt closed as of yet, just something maybe someone else has passed and can comment on. Please do let us know when you do receive your 3rd period statement if Chase charged the monthly fee or not.

Still waiting for 17,500 miles here. Opened the account in early January and initiated direct deposit a couple weeks later. This is taking significantly longer than it did last year using the same promotion. For some reason, I've been told that my points will post by early May, so we'll see what happens then. If they don't post then, I am writing a letter to someone at Chase. I've wasted way too much time on this to just abandon it completely.

I cannot find an email address for Chase on their website. The business card email address from my branch keeps bouncing back as a bad address. They make it hard to follow up don't they?

Why don't you just send Chase a bank mail (log in your account and use the bank message system)? That always works for me.

A success story, well kind of.

Opened Chase checking account (workplace checking, as my company does business with JPM-Chase along with the $25 CO Debit card) the last Saturday of December under of the guise of the 17.5K promo, barely beating the deadline. Lo and behold, the offer ups itself to 20K after Jan.1. I called the banker with whom I opened the account and he was still able to change the code to reflect the 20K offer. This was in addition to the stacking of a $125 bonus offer. I consider myself lucky for getting both, evidently YMM widely V.
I then set up a direct deposit from my work (switched to Chase as primary bank being in NYC) and made one debit card purchase. Then I waited.

On Jan 28, 5000 miles posted.
On Feb 28, 2500 miles posted.

Now it was about 2 months and I called the banker with whom I opened the account. He said that he would look into it. Back and forth ensued and I was told I had to wait for the 10 weeks of the offer to lapse to officially lodge a complaint. That date came and passed and I called and he set in motion the investigation to missing miles (12500 in my case).

Someone from the Chase rewards department got in contact with me towards the end of last week and I explained the situation. The 10000 points were easy. They saw that I had met all the requirements, DD, debit purchase, etc and said they would credit next cycle (end of April). The remaining 2500 were the hardest part. Chase said the the miles were actually credited from CO and CO said vice versa, that they just process orders that are pushed to them and don't credit miles. I went back and forth once and then asked the woman from Chase to call CO directly and have a conference call to get everything straightened out. CO was able to definitively say that the 5000 miles that credited end of Jan were indeed from Chase. This made Chase recoil in horror as she didn't know how/where/why. We hung up with CO and Chase called me this morning to say that they were indeed responsible for the missing 2500 (5000 should have been 7500).

So in the end, a success story, provided the miles post at the end of April. Just have to do your due diligence - it shouldn't be this way, but alas, it is.

So I finally figure out how to email Chase

It took a lifetime to figure out the link to send an inquiry to Chase.
It took them 2 days to reply the following:

Thank you for contacting Chase.

I am very sorry to hear about the issue with the miles.
What I would suggest is contacting Continental One Pass
Mile customer service. They are able to do more research
in the matter. You may contact them at 1-877-292-4273 Sat
? Sun, 7 am till 9pm local time .Have a great day
If you require further assistance, please e-mail us via
the Secure Message Center or contact Chase By Phone at
1-800-935-9935. Chase By Phone representatives are
available to assist you 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM, seven days a
week with automated account information available 24-hours
a day.

Thank you,

From reading the above posting, it sounds like when I call I will just be told to call Chase back.......... Should it not be Chase sending the miles?

Your right, its Chase thats responsible, its their promotion and they authorize the miles to send to Continental, most csr dont understand that little concept.

Plus, Chase sometimes send the miles to wrong FFP accounts, because they "create" new accounts to deposit the promo miles into. I found out once my long overdued UA miles were indeed requested by Chase (as Chase told me) but sent to the wrong "destination" (an UA account I had no knowledgement of), after my numerous follow-ups back and forth with both Chase and UA.

I got the best luck when having Chase and CO on the same call. Call Chase and ask them to call CO with you on the line and sort it out between the three of you.

Question on stacking...

Anyone stack this offer (or the last for 17.5 k) with a cash bonus for opening WITHOUT opening a Premier Account or having the banker be your brother-in-law? :)

that is, getting the miles and cash for the Chase Free Checking account? Cheers!

I was planning on stacking, but never got the opportunity to do so with the free account. Since my company does business with Chase, they upgraded me to the Workplace Checking account without my asking. Both promos came through however.
