For those who don't live near a Chase branch and/or prefer $125 cash instead (note OFFER EXPIRES 4/30/2008) try this link:

Noted from other board:
If you apply online, Chase will automatically send you the checks and charge you $18.75--$25+. (Can't confirm this since I always apply in the branch).

The advantage of applying in branch: with a willing CSR, it's possible you may combine, all the miles and cash bonuses, on top of the referral bonus, since they all have different fields on the bankers' screen. YMMV though. ;)

Any ACH transaction will do.

You only need ONE ACH per statement cycle. Even the pity Paypal account verification deposit like $0.07 (or whichever amount Paypal deposited into) would work.

If that's the case, and it's any ACH, any amount, at least once per month, that's easy. I average a couple a week (different shuffling, and payments). Thanks!

I applied at a branch, and they had a long list of "Workplace Checking" options, which offers free checks. Not sure if this is available if opening the account online. The small company I work at (a few thousand employees, nationwide), even had 2 "company organizations" to choose from. I dug, and they said it wouldn't impact the 20k bonus. Then again, I wonder if they're using this to link the Workplace, and the originating account of the ACH. Oh, the mysteries. If the 10k account bonus doesn't post quickly, guess I'm moving my "real" direct-deposit.

BTW, it's been 6 calendar days, and I haven't receieved my debit card yet. Figured it would have been here by now.

Well I got nothin and may not beable to get anything.

Just left the branch closest to the house and couldnt stand their Arrogance, made me feel as if they were doing me a tremendous favor by allowing me to become a Chase acct holder.

When they started in with where am I banking now, I said none of your business. They also wanted to know all about my mortgage (have none), life ins etc I said none of the banks business and I didnt want to be contacted about any of these things.

The mgr came over asked the same questions and when I gave the same answers she said, Chase doesnt want me as their customer that there are plenty of other banks around to choose from.

I guess they are looking for suckers that they will beable to sell all their products to as well as nickel and dime them to death.

Not worth it for 20K in CO miles. But I will try another branch tommorrow or Weds, but feel she put some kind of notes into my file not to open an acct for this person.

Just got off with Chase 800# and they said we dont require any info regarding where you presently are banking, go figure

Yes, I am a real person. :D

To answer your question, no I didn't combine the bonuses personally. (FWIW, I collect UA instead of CO miles from Chase.) I didn't have both miles and cash bonus codes when I opened my account. Very recently, I read from other posts (not sure if that's from FW, SD, or our own FT) that at least one poster confirmed triple dip (new account miles bonus + cash bonus + referral bonus). Meanwhile, I also read from SDers that their local branch only allowed either new account bonus OR referral bonus and refused to give them both. (BTW, combining new account bonus and referral bonus are totally legit and shouldn't be turned down.)

I simply relay the message and that's why I put YMMV. :) If you run into a friendly CSR who really knows how to enter and combine codes properly, you will be able to get all the bonuses. Do remember, YMMV!

Same here, but I did the $25 banking card. I also just started the ACH 3 weeks ago, so I understand the next 10k bonus may not post for another few weeks..

Friend who looked into Chase checking account offer said it is very expensive.

Expensive how? Is s/he looking into the right account?

I've always opened the free checking accounts with direct deposit, some even with free checks. I believe I am not the "ideal" customer for Chase. :p But I've been able to get quite a few miles and hundreds of cash bonuses from opening Chase checking accounts that had cost me nothing in the last couple of years. For that, I thank you, Chase. :D

However, Chase doesn't provide competitive rates. So it can never be my primary checking account.

Chase referral bonus

What is the Chase referral bonus? How much is it?

The current offer (expires on 4/16/08?) is a cash bonus offer between $25 to $50, depending on your location and type of accounts (personal vs. business). (I think $50 is for certain midwest states, MI, IN, OH).

These cards, do they get the 5% discount like the credit cards?

Frenchie Flyer Mar 19, 2008 8:27 pm

I think you are refering to the 5% off Continental tickets and no my card info said nothing about that.
