Print this page with the bonus miles certificate and take it to your local Chase branch by May 31, 2008. |
Open in branch v. online
FWIW, I tried to open the account online as Chase's website states that if you have an online coupon, you can open the account in the branch or online by entering the 16 digit coupon code.
It asks for the code on the first page before you enter your individual info. After entering the code and going to the next page, I got the error message that the transaction was unable to continue as the coupon was either invalid or already used (I tried two different fresh coupon numbers from the offer link.) So, looks like no way around doing this in person. :( |
I just got the samething and about to give them a call to see if it goes through.

I just signed up for this, quite quick and easy. I chose the lower annual fee debit card. Will that still give the additional 10k miles, or just 2500?
After 6-9 months Ill probably close the account and cancel the card, can I do both online, phone or do I have to do it in-person again? Though I do like having the online checking and credit cards all accessible from the same page, so I may keep the checking open.. |
Has anyone received their 10,000 bonus for opening the checking account? I received it within 10 days last year when I opened it under the 17,500 offer but it's been almost 3 weeks this year and no sign of it.

From the T&C's:
Initial 10,000 bonus miles will be deposited in your OnePass account 6-10 weeks after account opening and after direct deposit has been established on your account JudyJFLA |
Hi all,
Planning to make a little road trip with a friend to open up a Chase account. My question may seem silly here, but I guess it's been a ridiculously long while since I've set up a bank account - There's no issue with opening an account at a bank in one city with a personal address that's in a city several hours away is there? What does one need to take to the bank these days to set up an account? ID, startup money - anything I'm not thinking of? |

Wonder if you can combine this bonus with cash...
Wanted to check if anyone has had any luck combining this bonus co miles offer with a new account cash bonus more substantial than $25. Specifically, i was looking at this $100 one.
My gut tells me it shouldn't work, that since they are both coupon codes, a person can only choose one. I would choose the miles, since for me, 20k miles > $100, but YMMV. |

The closest Chase branches to CA are located in Arizona. If you are visiting Vegas then I think you can take a 2 hour drive to the closest branch at the border. Or simply take a cheapo flight to PHX. Of course, if you are traveling only to open an account then you have to add the price of your trip as part of the cost of 20k nonepass miles. If you value them at 1cpm, then it may not be worth it. :( Another factor to consider is a possible CO/UA merger, which would eventually result in a mileage program consolidation. The Chase offer could disappear. But the sum of your balances in one program might be worth more than the parts. |
