Unlike when I did a similar promotion last year, I have been having serious problems getting the miles to post. The most recent reason I've been given is that Chase contacted the One Pass Service Center, who told them that since I received 20,000 miles for a credit card sign-up in April 2007, I am not eligible for another bonus. Nowhere in the terms and conditions of either offer was such a policy mentioned. In fact, it cannot be true because I did the same checking offer in November/December of 2007 and the miles posted without issue.
Anyone else having a similar problem? |
I also opened an account on January 10th. To date, I have NOT received any of the promised 20,000 miles. I have the printouts my Chase banker gave me promising the miles. It specifies "Limit one personal checking account related award/premium per customer per calendar year".
I called Chase and they said I have to call the Chase Continental banking card center @ 1-877-292-4273 but they are only open 9:00 to 5:30. I'll be callin tommorrow for sure. |

For the banking card, there was previous discussion of whether it was 10,000 miles for the $65 preferred card and only 7500 for the $25 debit card. Per the offer's language below, shouldn't I be expecting 10,000 for the CO debit card portion even if I only got the $25 card?
"Customer is eligible for an additional 7,500 bonus miles, plus the standard 2,500 mile offering when they elect to receive the Chase Continental Airlines Banking Card or Chase Continental Airlines Preferred Banking Card." Also - to make sure I'm doing this right - If I used PayPal for my ACH/Direct Deposit, do I need to set this up as recurring somehow so it shows differently to the bank or if I just do a one time transfer to bank account each month from my PayPal account does this read correctly to the bank? Thanks! |
I understood the miles to be;
10k open the acct and fund it with $100 min New money ( not being moved out of 1 Chase acct and into this new 1) 7500 when your acct gets the actual Direct Deposit received or as some have said an ACH inbound to the acct 2500 when you use either Debit card for any transaction that doesnt require you to key in your PIN code. (or simply swipe your debit card at a terminal and chose Credit, chossing Debit will have the term ask you to key in your PIN) with the T&Cs saying it can take 6-10 weeks for credit to get into your CO acct. I imagine that the time period starts after you have completed whatever was necessary for each of the 3 items above. |
OK, I opened the account on 1/8/2008
I did the following 01/23/2008 reads ING DIRECT DEPOSIT PPD # And it repeats each month. On 1/18/2008 I used the Debit card for $10 Gas at the pump. The following has posted thus far: 02/23/2008 Chase Debit Card Enrollment Bonus Miles 2,500 01/24/2008 Chase Debit Premium Purchases 5 So still waiting for everything else to post, but still in the time frame so far, so I will wait 2 more weeks or so before panic sets in!! JudyJFLA Can I ask you have your gotten your statement for the 3rd period as of yet? I ask about the 3rd since Chase wasnt suppose to charge if Direct Deposit wasnt set up for the 1st 60 days or periods 1 & 2. From the 3rd onwards there is a per month charge, so Im wondering if the ING or PayPal really counts in the end. It might go thru as ACH but really the only way to know is if Chase doesnt charge the per month fee from the 3rd Period onwards. So if Chase does in fact charge that would mean Chase doesnt accept the ACH as being a DD otherwise $25 for 2500 miles is gonna be an expensive purchase of miles. I realize taht your 3rd period hasnt closed as of yet, just something maybe someone else has passed and can comment on. Please do let us know when you do receive your 3rd period statement if Chase charged the monthly fee or not. |

panic!!?? that's a bit much, no? you'll get your miles, it might just take some work.
This is the 2nd time I have done this promotion, the first time was in 2007. This time around, I did everything exactly the same. Same deposit amount, same account type, same options, same direct deposit, etc. I'm not too optimistic about this and am considering canceling my other Chase accounts (except for the 0% BT offer I have). |

So you have to make two purchases, one using DEBIT and one using CREDIT ? I think I just made one and I got the 7500 points, now I will make another one using credit. I signed up for the $25 card. |
Just Don't Use it as PIN-based transaction

You only have to make sure you use the card as a credit card (i.e. without entering PIN) transaction. Otherwise, it won't count as the qualifying purchase/s for the bonus miles requirement. |
