United posting again
After check ins seemed to stop posting on 4/5, I just noticed the miles for several more days have posted. Seems to have just been one of those not-so-infrequent glitches.
|
Haven't had any problem with Double Tree or Hampton Inn Points posting, although I have stopped going for broke every day because I don't want my account shut down
|
Hey flyers, it seems like UA miles aren't posting for a few others but you are still receiving emails. I made the (perhaps dumb) mistake of cancelling email notifications and wonder if that could contribute to mine not posting? They haven't posted since 3/28 or so...
I recently changed my email address and registered again, but still no emails.. |

4/14/2012 TOPGUEST BONUS MILES 50 This was for activity on April 13, 2012. They are posting routinely 1 day after my Foursquare airport check-ins. |

My HH points seem to have dried up, IHGs are posting on the same day as the check-in.
|
HH points are posting for double tree check-ins, but some what irregular.
|
I have not had any IHG points post since the 12th, check in several times a week, but usually different hotels. They are showing on the Topguest account so I am hoping there is just a backlog.

Me: Hi there, I have a question about Hampton Inn check-ins and HHonors. On the "Programs' list, it still says, "Get 50 Hilton HHonors Bonus Points for sharing your location or a photo at HamptonR or DoubleTree by HiltonT hotels." However, in the TopGuest T&C for the HHonors program, it says (related to Hampton Hotels) "This offer is valid from September 26, 2011, 12:01 a.m. EST through March 26, 2012, 11:59 p.m. EST." I'm not sure which section is correct, but I do know that, while I've been receiving emails from TopGuest about getting 50 HHonors points for my Hampton check-ins, I haven't seen any points show up in my HHonors account (which the T&C says should be within 48 hours). Is the Programs section out of date? Is Hampton no longer an option for HHonors? Thanks for contacting us regarding the apparent discrepancy. We are in the process of discussing our agreements with our partners and in some cases, the program termination dates may appear out of date. Generally, if you can see the program listed on our website, then it is still valid. I apologize for the apparent confusion. As for why you haven't been receiving your Hilton HHonors points for your Hampton Inn checkins, I'm not 100% sure. The rewards have been successfully submitted for processing. This appears to be affecting some users and not others. At this point, please contact Hilton HHonors directly. David Flyalog |

Just to toss this out there, has anyone actually seen HHonors points post from a Hampton Inn checkin since March 27? Maybe the TopGuest guy is not correct that the programs page is accurate and it really is the T&C page that has the right info... David Flyalog |

Following TopGuest's advice, I've called HHonors. HHonors has "opened a case with high importance" for me. This, apparently, means that someone will look at it and get back to me within 5-10 business days. I'd hate to see what "low importance" would be :)

David Flyalog In my case, I was in another city and stayed in a Hampton Inn instead of my usual Doubletree stop-bys. Soon after, the points stopped posting. [Odder still, I went to HHonors to check the date of my Hampton TG point posting . . . it has left the building and is no longer listed as part of my activity!] Please let us know what Hilton tells you. I'd like some hope before I contact them myself! |
Also got a United posting today (from the same day as the Doubletree: Saturday).

united, virgin, wyndham all posting fine for me over the weekend.

Suspicious account activity
I rcd the dreaded 'Suspicious account activity" e-mail today from Topguest. I have to admit I did try to stretch it a little. I have been getting points twice a day. I walk past Hilton, Best Western and Crown Plaza on the way to work and again on the way home. Then about 3 days ago I tried to get them 3 times in one day and it did not work. Then I get the e-mail threatening to terminate my account if I keep it up. It just stated that I violated the TOS Section (1) (c) and if I continue then I am out. I guess i will just have to not be greedy again.

They've turned a corner at least for me, and are really pretty good these past 2 weeks. |

Spoke to HH now. They say that the promotion expired 3/27/12 and to take it up with Topguest by emailing them at [email protected]. I'm not sure I want to do that since I don't want to flag my account. Priority Club still working just fine and so is United.

My account still posting for HH so the "expired 3/27/12" is not true.

May be a stupid question, but does it matter if Facebook check-ins are immediately made invisible to "everyone but me"? Can Topguest still detect these? I'm getting tired of having people asking me why I'm checking into a hotel in the middle of the day and assuming my life is a lot more exciting than it is.

Then why are you even using FB to check in? Just switch to Foursquare and your problem is solved.
When you link your 4sq and FB accounts your 4sq checkins post to your FB. There is an option when you check in on 4sq to not share the checkin with FB...but you have to manually select it, and it is a pain to always remember. Unless you really need FB and 4Sq integration, it is easier to just unlink your facebook account: http://support.foursquare.com/entrie...square-account You do not have to share a 4sq checkin with FB to get topguest points. |

It's a "she" not a "he", and a married one, which makes my check-ins even more interesting to people. Must be giving a Mrs.Robinson vibe.
The reason I use FB is because I've had problems getting the points with 4SQ before. I don't know if 4SQ is more sensitive to the distance. I'm a ways from the property when I check in. FB has been working great for me. I was just wondering if anyone has made their FB check-ins invisible to everyone but themselves and still got the points. I will try one today and see if it works. Sorry that I scared a kitty :) |

Eek, sorry as well about that mix up as well msc75.
As far as being close to the locations... I'm highly doubt topguest can tell that foursquare thought you were not close enough. I believe it is people checking in to multiple places in short periods of time that they look for. When two locations are 12 miles away and you check in within 10 minutes of each other they know you're not really there. m.foursquare.com doesn't care how close you are, and my phone's foursquare app location is so bad I'm often miles away from some places and it doesn't care, and then when I'm at the actual property it decides I'm too far for points for the checkin. |

I currently collect around 50 UA miles per day via 4Square check ins. However, I'm not using Top Guest for any other check ins. Is there any concensus "best" program to check in with using Top Guest in order to quickly get points for free hotel nights?

Have been no problem checking in on 4S at Hampton Inn DCA. I check-in at UA daily at DCA when I'm at home. Sucessfully got points for UA, BW, Wyndahm, and Hampton check-ins around EWR the last weekend.

Topguest's "Recently earned" list has a whole bunch for yesterday labeled "Priority Club Rewards points." So I'm guessing a batch is about to hit people's PCR accounts.
