My PC points have been posting every day - just double checked my account and 1/21 was the last date I had a double post (meaning the 1/20 check-in did not post that day).

Some it takes a few hours after the FS check-in to get the confirmation e-mail from TG but they have been very consistent lately!

bearcat74 Feb 13, 2012 1:34 pm

Just had a big slug of Choice points post today (over 1K) - maybe that finally catches it up to when Choice left the program. Have no way to know as you can't see your Choice total in the TG site anymore, but at one point was several thousand behind in them posting to Choice.

+1. I also had my choice points post.

Took several weeks for the miles to start posting... but then they all hit. Now the daily check-ins net me 50 miles usually the next day. Sometimes faster than my flight miles post!

I am in same boat nothing since December 28 but emails keeps coming and also points showed up in Topguest.I guess one day eventually they will show up in PC account.

airride Feb 17, 2012 10:25 am

i joined topguest yesterday and they posted the Hilton and PC points today, but when i check in today, it doesnt show the points in the history and each time i try to check in it is asking me to input the HH and PC membership no...

(i cant type the numbers everyday, anyway it can remember)

i also tried the foursquare and in that it asks me to register on topguest and doesnt automatically work)

can someone point me to any guide of how topguest works?

I use topguest with foursquare. The membership number is entered in topguest, in "PROGRAMS" option. I started doing this about 2 months back and as long as you have the correct "Member ID" for the corresponding program, I had not had any issue. Although, I have to say that topgust and foursquare had been acting strange recently, where points dont post to TOPGUEST for a day or two, and then some of them all posted later, and some just do not show...I am not sure it is an issue with which, but as long as it is posting 80%+ of the time, I am not going to spend more time tracking these issues.

I've been having these issues on and off. It is more of a "hiccup" type issue, where all points stop, and then all of a sudden they email multiple times to say I received 50 points. Points then are correctly reflected in my topguest profile, and a month or so later they transfer over to my actual program accounts.

Just started doing the United checkins... have not seen any emails. Am I doing something wrong? I'm just checking in at LAX, only done it twice in the last week no points yet.

For United checkins, it had been very consistent of receiving email right after check-in, even 2 months back when no points showing up in my United account. However, in the past week, it has been lagging behind and email notification showed up random time after. Also the miles posted to United was really quick like some other FTer said earlier on this thread...

If you check-in from foursquare, be sure that you are really check into an airport venue -- I have seen many sites with airport symbol, but not really the airport. Of course, I dont know whether those terminal check-ins would be counted in this case or not. Anyway, dont over-do your check-ins to cause suspicious and I did get a warning 4 weeks back which I had no clue on what's the trigger, but I am trying to be more careful about not over-doing it.

I've seen that too, where someone just makes up a place, and calls it whatever they want. I've checked into a "fake" holiday inn and gotten points for it. I think right now they're not too picky in their giving of points. I hope that continues. I'm trying to be as careful as possible, I check in to one place at a time, wait a few hours and then check in again. I like to leave random comments, like "picking up Susan here."

What was your activity pattern that generated the "warning" and what was in the warning?

flyerfrog Feb 18, 2012 12:21 pm

I've been checking into Virgin America counters and getting confirmations for 25 miles to Virgin America and 50 miles to Continental for the single check in. Although I have yet to see any miles posted to my continental account. I've had more success with miles getting posted to my united account.

Stubtify Feb 18, 2012 12:38 pm

I just checked and 50 points posted to UA yesterday from topguest. Not sure if this is my checkin last wek or the one from Thursday.

csib Feb 18, 2012 6:03 pm

United miles posted within five days of checking in.

TurboKaren512 Feb 19, 2012 12:29 pm

Anyone know if we can check-in to an airport location and a hotel on the same day and get points for both? Or is it just a flat one check-in per day that is awarded points? I work at an airport hotel, lol, so this is perfect for me ^

deirdre Feb 19, 2012 2:05 pm

You can check into both an airport and a hotel. Every time I drive by SFO, I also hit the Doubletree. :)

anchor79 Feb 19, 2012 3:52 pm

i tried to look up united..is it gone?

My checkins to Hilton properties all worked fine through about the end of January, but this month I've gotten nothing in my Hilton account. The emails keep coming and it shows my increased balance on those, but they aren't going to Hilton anymore...

pcharles Feb 28, 2012 9:58 am

Has there become a workaround solution for the firefox or is it long dead. PM if necess. Thanks

Do you mean the Four Square Alibi plug-in? Version 1.8 fixes the redesign issue.

Same here. It's been a while since they posted. Maybe it's dead for Hilton?

I seem to get Hilton points every two days into my Hilton account.

And I just use the mobile foursquare site (m.foursquare.com, not an app) for check ins. Nothing fancy, just doesn't have ability to locate exactly where you are. you get "points" from foursquare, but you can't be a mayor (if that is your thing).

So now that UA and CO programs are merged, for those who had their OnePass number linked, should they now relink that same number but with UA or let it sort out by itself? And for those who had their UA number linked, should they relink with the new UA number?

My Hilton points have been working OK recently, flowing through Topguest and into my HH account pretty quickly.

I'm UK based and using Facebook for check-ins in case that makes any difference.

Still working?

Are folks still getting points for check-ins or was this a one-time deal?

Since UA has said the back-end mapping between accounts will be in place for some time going forward, I am going to hold off making a change and see if they contact me about it.

Still getting 50 UA miles and 50 hotel points every day!

napilimom Mar 4, 2012 9:59 am

Still getting mine every day as well.

camhabib Mar 4, 2012 10:58 am

Is it possible to do multiple hotels in one day or just one airline and one hotel? Does the check-in have to be publicly visible on Foursquare or can it be private (aka "off the grid")?

GetawaysRus Mar 4, 2012 11:39 am

You can check in at multiple hotels on one day. That means multiple hotels in different hotel chains, such as a Doubletree and a Best Western.

However, AFAIK, if you are getting points for hotel check-ins from Priority Club (as an example), only one Priority Club hotel check in will count daily. I have a Holiday Inn and 2 Holiday Inn Express hotels in my local area - I don't think that I could get extra points for checking in at all 3 locations in one day.

I've done "off the grid" check-ins and gotten points.

camhabib Mar 4, 2012 12:27 pm

Thanks for the feedback GetawaysRus.

Just be careful - I've heard reports of TopGuest canceling certain accounts. I do not know what you need to do in order to have your account canceled though.

My check-ins at HGI from Facebook are not working. No emails, no points. Other Hiltons and PC's have worked in the past.

I believe it needs to be Hampton or Doubletree.

Oops, I had not noticed that. Thanks for pointing it out.

I have been using Topguest for a while now. Since January I haven't been getting my points posted at PriorityClub (I was previously getting them posted everyday at PC).

Just wondering if it's worthwhile to contact TopGuest or if I should wait it out and see what happens?

jikei Mar 5, 2012 12:55 pm

I just signed up a few weeks ago, and, will admit I was breaking their TOS by checking into stuff I was no where near..and points were posting like the next day...and got a nice little email from them telling me to stop checking into places I was not at or near..which I did..immediately..this past week I was at an actual hotel and checked into it - along with two others close by ..no points...oh well..

MJLouise Mar 5, 2012 6:58 pm

Just used this with firefox. Got both PC and United points. Thanks for the headsup.

Are you using Facebook or Foursquare for your check-ins? I have been getting PC points through FS for several months now. I haven't tried FB so don't know how well it works.
