I got the same misuse email. TopGuest/FourSquare often think you are miles away even when you are sitting in the location. My building is in the location of a DoubleTree so only think it is fair that I can check in there daily, yet TopGuest thinks that is misuse apparently. I cannot help it if my iPhone thinks I am miles away from the place I am actually standing. The GPS is often way off. I do plan on continuing to use TopGuest because I like the benefits, but I dont appreciate being accused of misusing something when it is not true.

Thanks for your presence here TopGuest Lurker, but realize that programs like these often have caveats that are not necessarily misuse, but simply issues that can arise like the GPS being inaccurate. I hope you will not penalize loyal users for these issues. Fingers crossed they dont ban me too!:(

tripice351 Sep 25, 2011 11:49 am

anyone have anything post from Choice Privileges lately? Checkins are showing up in Topguest, still nothing in my Choice account for over 2 months, even after the e-mail about them fixing the posting problem with Choice.

sun_aa Sep 25, 2011 2:20 pm

I have had the same issue. Contacting them has been useless since they say Choice is the one delaying the postings.

Zurich Flyer Sep 26, 2011 1:48 am

Same problem here. Both TopGuest and Choice are usless and don't provide any customer service at all :td:

virtuo0 Sep 26, 2011 9:21 pm

Same here. I will give it until end of this month before i stop doing it for choice.

I've found TopGuest to be very responsive to my inquiries.

Hilton has been extremely quick to post points so that is great. However, I tried checking in twice in one day, probably 5 hours apart, but only one posted for the day. Anyone else experience this?

I believe only one check-in per day is allowed.

Mine haven't posted in weeks. IHG is posting fine now it seems whereas they used to be fairly irregular.

Ah, when reading the previous pages of the thread it seems like people were checking in so often, the policy must have changed due to usage abuse.

sun_aa Oct 1, 2011 1:38 pm

It has always been that way.

It's always been one checkin per day. However, the cut-off time isn't 12am, it's more like 5pm. So you could check in Monday morning, and Monday evening, and have 2 check ins - the second one will show up as Tuesday. This also means any checkin Tuesday before 5pm or so won't count.

I see, thanks for the clarification. So the people who are getting miss use emails are checking in at 5 different locations in a day. Seems hard for anyone who doesn't live in a big city.

Topguest to ChoiceRwards

What is going on with Choice Rewards? Did anyone get points in the last two months? Nothing, nada, niec arrived on my Choice account

Mine have started trickling in. About a third of my Choice check-ins over the past 2 months have posted within the last week. Before that, I was experiencing a drought similar to yours.

I'm having similar issues with Hilton.
Mind you, this isn't the first time this issue has cropped up. Given its spotty tracking and reporting, it's sometimes a wonder TopGuest is working at all.

enfuego Oct 14, 2011 10:23 pm

Anyone have any luck with Kimpton points posting?

NewArrival Nov 4, 2011 4:08 pm

Huh?

Topguest's email address is bouncing back ([email protected]), no matter which email account I send from. And other users are reporting Topguest strangeness of late. Anyone?

jjkpartsman Nov 4, 2011 5:20 pm

For 3 days in a row, none of my check ins via facebook have registered a response from topguest. I have had to email them after the 24hr window and ask for my points. I don't know what is going on. I have several programs and hotels I check in each day and they have not posted. It all started this past Sunday. Before that, my check in got a response within 5 min with my 50 point posting in my account within 30min. I agree with above response in the fact if topguest is even working.

I contacted them by e-mail and they indicated that there connectivity problems with Facebook. Once I switched to Foursquare everything is back to normal again.

Could someone who has successfully had points post from Topguest to Choice please confirm the correct way to enter your account number? My account number is a mix of alpha and numeric characters with a hyphen like GP-AAA9999 Should I put the whole thing or just the AAA9999 part?

You need to enter only the "AAA9999", no need of GP. I accumulated about 1600 points and none of them posted. I contacted TG last week and they said there are some connector issues with choice and the points should post by end of Nov. This week 250 points posted in my account. That's first time ever. Now i am waiting for the rest.

lpatron Nov 12, 2011 7:12 am

I check in every day with Foursquare and my points usually post in a matter of minutes. I use the Foursquare Check-in Firefox plug-in and it works great.

dbh1 Nov 14, 2011 8:53 am

I feel pretty silly. I checked in at the same Hilton near my house probably 5 times before realizing that it doesn't count. Oh well.

Wow. Straight deception....awesome.

Another data points, I have over 1000 Choice hotel points in topguest. I use Foursquare to check in. I have been checking in since Mid-October and none of the Choice points have been posted. Other hotels are posting fine for me.

Same here, have over 1500 points in topguest, but haven't posted to my account yet either. Topguest says it can take 6-8 weeks. I have hit the 6 week and will be at 8 weeks shortly.

enfuego Dec 2, 2011 9:21 pm

Still zero luck with Kimpton here. I stayed at a Kimpton for three days last week, checked in from the lobby, and still zilch.

Send Topguest an email. Just remember that you're limited to one Kimpton point in your lifetime from this program.

djchoisum Dec 4, 2011 11:04 am

Check-ins at Doubletree has stopped posting to my HH account since Nov 3rd, but it still posted to my Topguest account. Emailed them about the issue, now waiting for reply.

mooper Dec 4, 2011 11:55 am

Per Gary, check this out: United and Continental (same, eventually) have both been added to TopGuest as partners. Earn 50 miles for checking in at or near a qualifying airport.

chicaloca453 Dec 5, 2011 10:37 am

The United thing worked for me yesterday. But today when I checked in at an airport passenger pickup it didn't. So I'm wondering if you now have to check in at the airport. I also wish Top Guest kept track of the United miles like they do the hotel programs. Also, I wonder if an airport qualifies if you can earn both United and Continental miles the same day. So many unanswered questions.

I'm getting a "can't be blank" error message whenever I try to enter my MP/OP # and try to connect. Anyone else having problems?

It was discovered over on MilePoint that at least for Foursquare to connect to MP/OP, you must have entered both a first and last name in your Foursquare account. I think it's also recommended that your e-mail address match the e-mail address on file with MP/OP, but I'm not sure if that's an absolute requirement.

That was it! Thanks!

Tiki Dec 6, 2011 2:48 pm

Is the new UA/CO program part of the Topguest program or is it separate with Topguest providing the software in the same way Points.com provides the software that processes purchasing points from an airline?

I'd like to get in on this one but not jeopardize my hotel point check-ins with one of the dreaded "great/less great" emails.

I STILL haven't had over 1800 Choice points transfer from TG to Choice.

chicaloca453 Dec 6, 2011 4:23 pm

I've checked in twice to an airport that generated an email yesterday. Today it's not generating an email. Any idea if it's an absolute certaainty that you need the email in order to get the miles?

excalibur713 Dec 7, 2011 3:24 am

Blackberry?

Has anybody had any luck using Topguest's website on blackberry? When I try to do a checkin via foursquare that way, I get an error message.
