SPG and Delta are not participating in Topguest's program and I am not aware of a way to credit Virgin America check-ins to AA.

Cool thanks. I guess this is pretty much for the Hilton people then.

And those in the IHG's Priority Club program too.

My daily Doubletree checkin used to post to my HHonors account every day, 50 points at a time.. still been checking in every day, none have posted for about a week and a half. Anyone else experiencing this?

HmmDonuts May 5, 2011 11:51 pm

My HHonors points are posting just fine.

Make sure you're choosing the right Doubletree entry in FourSquare or whatever you're using. I've sometimes found duplicates, and only one is the "official" one that works.

I tried the Live Chat on Topguest, they told me to e-mail. I received a response within an hour or less, saying they "resolved the problem" and all the missing checkins were posted (individually, as usual) within 15 minutes of the e-mail. Topguest is awesome.

foxberg May 16, 2011 1:15 pm

My previously disabled account is active again. They just posted 1700 HH points for my check-ins while it was disabled.

mooper May 20, 2011 2:12 pm

TopGuest just added Best Western as a partner and they are offering 500 BW points for the creation of a new account. (I detailed it in this thread).

Or just about any airline program if the right hotel is convenient to you and you are willing to invest 10 seconds a day for three months to get 1,000 miles. For example, 5,000 Choice points = 1,000 miles. 8,000 Wyndham points = 3,200 miles.

btw, Best Western gives a 50 point bonus for adding the program to your TopGuest account, in addition to the 500 point bonus for opening a new Best Wstern account.

Just noticed that I didn't get any credit for May 27 and 28 on TG site. Is it a glitch or is it something to do with my account?

HmmDonuts May 29, 2011 11:04 am

I'm having the same issue and have heard of others also not getting points credited. Me thinks Topguest is having some issues right now.

aragno May 29, 2011 6:25 pm

Does this work for international check-ins at Hilton?

Mine haven't posted since the 26th either.

If it is a Doubletree, it should. If it is a Hilton, no.

+1

Annoyed. Account suspended for unknown reason. The ONLY checkin I do is the ICH that I pass every day on the way to work. I have offered to send them a picture of the property as I pass it.

We'll see what happens.

Mike

All my missing check-ins over the past several days posted last night to topguest. Nothing to the hotel accounts yet, but topguest is up to date.

kitbag1984 Jun 1, 2011 3:35 pm

Do they contact you to tell you if you have been suspended?

My wyndham rewards points posted on 6/1 for the past week or so (they used to post daily). Still nothing for the doubletree checkins, but it seems some things are working again.

flapping arms Jun 2, 2011 10:14 am

PCR hasn't posted my points in a few weeks. Ironically, this includes an actual stay at an HIX hotel, so my check-in was legitimate.

(All my check-ins on 4Sq/TG are legitimate; I check in at the nearest ICG brand to where I am, usually the one next door to my office. But I don't want to overdo the free points.)

I have had points posting for hotel stays, but not had a topguest posting for about 4 weeks for IHG. They are showing on topguest, so hopefully they will convert to actual points soon :)

This is the response I got on my query for IHG posting.

Thanks for contacting Topguest Help. It can take up to 6 weeks for points to be transferred to your Priority Club account. You should start to receive points in your account shortly. Based on your first rewarded checkin on May 7th, you should expect to start receiving points around Jun 18th.

Sounds like they're giving you/us the runaround.
They were able to post them much quicker previously.
I'm curious if it's because of some change of terms between IHG and other partners with Topguest or whether this might be related to the technical issues that Topguest has had recently

yep. last time i waited the 14-day period they suggest, then emailed them and they posted that same day. I'm wondering if i should wait the full 14 days this time though. HHonors points are usually very good about posting within HOURS. hmmm....

zakami Jun 7, 2011 3:48 pm

Hilton points posted today in a batch.

Hmmm. Nothing for me still.
I had a few Best Western points post, but a fraction of what I should have gotten. There's a gap of a 2 weeks' worth of BW points still missing.

josephstern Jun 8, 2011 6:48 am

Yup - I got some old HHonors points that I was due that I had totally forgotten about.

HmmDonuts Jun 8, 2011 11:37 am

HHonors points did finally post.
Nothing in a month for Priority Club. Anyone received their IHG points?

kendenton Jun 8, 2011 12:21 pm

My IHG points are still collecting in TopGuest for a month, nothing has ever been credited to IHG

flapping arms Jun 9, 2011 12:44 pm

I had two weeks' worth of TopGuest points post to my PC account today.

PC posted, but less points than expected.

Same here. Topguest says I have 450 points, they posted 150 to my PC account.

tripice351 Jun 9, 2011 10:05 pm

Last night I noticed that I hadn't had any PCR points post in over a month. This had happened previously with Hilton, sent an e-mail and got it fixed right away. This time, the result - the famous e-mail starting "We noticed you're a big user of Topguest (great) but"...

I would now probably recommend against e-mailing until after 6 weeks (which is what is recommended in their FAQ). I am not doing anything wrong, I just happen to live in Phoenix which has a million hotels, including 5 chains that I am able to check into every day. I will keep checking in, and as has happened to others, eventually the suspension will be lifted and I'll get points. Wish I waited one more day, seeing the recent posts it looks like alot of people are over a month from PCR and got posted today (ironically I had 17 days worth of PCR post today - half of as much of what was expected as others mention)

commuting checkins not allowed

I wrote the Topguest service and asked if it is allowed to check in on my daily commute but going physical into the lobby of a property, because accounts got suspended in the past (as I saw in this thread).

Don't know if I'm allowed to cite email: therefore, rewritten answer in my own words:
Topguests aims to reward that I share my location via social network check-ins when I "actually visit the locations".

That means, that on my commute, I'm generally not allowed to check-in locations to reward points.
So in my eyes, when I commute and physical "visit the location" for 2 min I don't offend the TOS. But it seems like they still don't allow it. The two parts of the answer from Topguest conflicts each other.

Another answer was that it makes no difference which application or service I use to sign-in. Hope to see soon how they manage the GPS information.
