Honestly I'm not sure why some of you overshare information on FT when the airlines monitor the boards and threads. You're just asking to get downgraded.

I called DL (provided the original DL tix#) and managed to get it to be parked (I hope this was correct, as I am always afraid when they use the term e-credit). I was told that I have until end of March 2021 to rebook my flight (as I wanted dates in early 2022).

I'm not disagreeing with you since I have no first-hand knowledge and this could be outdated information, but the following thread makes it sound possible in certain scenarios (i.e. generally a connection <12 hours, not returning to the same country as the inbound came from).

Algerian visas seem ridiculously expensive (I've seen USD80 for even just a transit visa) so I'd like to avoid getting one as well but I don't think it's possible.

Yep, caught up in the 2nd sweep. Called and asked for them to reissue on 006 and then initiate a refund. This ticket has been reissued 6 times in total for me.. (6 006 numbers, 1 057) with five different operating carriers at some point or another, two different origins, but guess it's finally come to an end.

Delta was going to reissue the ticket for me and then stupid me asked about rebooking possibilities and the agent asked superiors. They said only AF can reissue the ticket (since they took control of it, although the ticket was originally issued on 006 stock) and DL covid waivers don't apply.
If anybody has a suggestion which DL office to contact to get the ticket reissued on DL stock after all, please send me a PM. Do not comment on this post.
I am worried that my ticket has been annotated anyway, but I'd like to give it a last try before asking for a refund.
