[prem fare gone]: AF La Premiere, Algiers to USA $472.05 one-way
#842
I'm running into an issue rebooking my ticket without a re-price due to to Alaska's fare class changes. My last sector was on AS in F. However, since AS joined oneworld, F is no long first class which means I can meet the "class-to-class" requirement to avoid re-price.

who did you book with? see if they can drop the last segment for you?

I booked with Priceline. I doubt they'd touch it now, since it's under the airline's control. On top of that, dropping the last segment would mean the "same origin and destination" requirement wouldn't be met. I'll still give Priceline a try, though.

Finally, got to fly this, what an experience!
It was a real fight to get the ticket reinstated by Delta after having it parked, with over a 5-hour-long chat with an agent that turned more unfriendly, even hostile, the longer it went on. Finally, got it though but at the time it completely killed the fun, and I was ready to give up on the fare, they even put in a wrong e-mail and phone number, so it was nearly impossible for me to track down the ticket or get notifications.
Then, through further cancellations and very helpful KL agent, was able to get it re-booked on a much easier route than ALG. Can't post the specifics (and there was much more needed to get it done), but in the end it was fantastic. Might almost pay normal fare price for LaP next time

Same here, on mid November dream turned reality, flying from Algier and can confirm transit allowed within 12 hours without any visa, also baggage transit allowed since after documentation checked, Air France representative will provide to pick up them and tag for your final destination. As so many expectations must say that of course for our "price"can't complain at all, but full fare ticket really not worth above all on air experience. Lounge experience was flawless and outstanding, we got met at Cdg on our arrival from Algiers and fast track lined to collect our bag and drove in an immaculate DS limousine directly to our hotel, morning after picked up with brand new Audi Q7 electric to Lounge, and before entering same driver after provided check in in lounge, walked us to Covid test area awaiting us for one hour ( wonderful guy ). Back to Lounge show must go on, very quiet morning with few pax including Tony Parker and fiancé flying to Sant' Antonio through Houston, after some little breakfast and relax time (unfortunately no more Spa massage avalaible) looking forward for lunch time with full lunch set of Ceasar salad prawns, famous coquillettes with truffle, Filet Mignon and really mediocre Baba o Rhum. Heading on Board by gorgeous Audi 8 L where our hostess although so friendly and attentive got very bad mistakes, above all Caviar served without blinis, mixing wine choices etc. Seats and privacy phenomenal and got 7 hours sleep flawless, arriving in Lax well rested and ready to connect Japan Airlines First Class to Haneda but that's another wonderful experience

Was on Ita flight from Rome Fiumicino with about 2 hours and half hours connection time, immigration at beginning quite wonder was there without any Visa, then after explained that Rome Consulate confirming no any Visa in case of transit without going out Airport and above all after checked and confirmed my connection flight with Air France allowed me in, then after further attentive control by Airport representative regarding all our documentation to enter Usa, finally escorted from Air France representative til our gate to Paris, same guy provided to collect our baggage from Fco to our flight to Paris all way to Portland, fyg no lounge available at Algier apt.
Pls consider minimum 3 hours connection bcs all is according immigration staff you will find, at beginning we lost 45 minutes arguing no Visa occurred to transit but most he was wonder why need transit Algier to go Usa and simply explained we bought tickets before Pandemia time and would like enjoy Algier Visit too that time, then after arrival of supervisor and Air France guy with our boarding cards we were in in awhile, anyway apart losing time staff very kindly.
Wish good luck and try get as much transit time in La Premiere lounge that really worth and try be starving as much u can before arrival to enjoy as much delicatesse

Yes due timing flight from Algier no way than a layover in Paris that gave also chance to use as much Lounge morning after, called day before and be confirmed that lounge access only same flight day, but they arrange us chaperone upon arrival and car transfer to our hotel, morning after car service again from hotel to lounge.

Hopefully everyone has already flown this fare. I was able to fly this three times earlier this year. Twice to LAX, once to SFO. They were very difficult to manage but the time spent on them was worth it in the end.
I guess technically a mileage run in La Premiere
I was too afraid of getting downgraded and having my ticket looked at to even consider reserving the chauffeur service in Paris.

By difficult to manage, do you mean the fares themselves or AF?
That concerns me too. But the chauffeur service is a decent part of the La Première experience. I'm in two minds.

Any tips/tricks - since it sounded like there were lots of pushback/difficulties.
Cheers!

I do still have to re-schedule this - parked my ticket from beginning of this year under Delta's Bulletin 6 - I hope that they will when re-installing it, put it back into F class.

I would start be reconfirming that your reservation that your reservation is subject to bulletin 6, by which I mean get the Delta rep to acknowledge that first, before he or she potentially looks at the amount paid.
