I used to be more well versed on the TK program but I seem to recall that the threshold for Gold is 35k in year 1 or 40k over 2 years. So, you may want to reflect this on the spreadsheet.

You are right. I went by what where to credit says.. But looking closer at their actual table it's 100% qualifying and 200% award miles. Will update when I have a chance.

No, it's 40K any 12 rolling months to get *A Gold. Once you reach *A Gold, the membership starts and ends in 2 years. If you manage to get 30K miles within next 12 months then it will be renewed for another 2 years (meaning you have 3 years of *A Gold), 45K if you fly less than 30K first year, but fly more than 45K, the it's renewed for another 2 years. Push comes to shove, if you can't make it 45K, you can buy status miles of up to 10K (IMO not worth it) before *A Gold expires.

With TK, how you move up is simple, once you get to 25K, you become Classic Plus, fly another 15K (40K total), you reach Elite (*G reset from this date), if you fly another 40K (80K) within 12 months from the start you get Elite Plus (E+ reset from the day you meet Elite Plus).

That's why it's hard to evaluate the best *A FFP over 1 single spreadsheet.

Another aspect is redemption rates which vary a lot by programs. I would take SQ, LH/OS/LX/SN/LO (M&M) and BR off the list completely due to their stringent requirements in every aspect of the programs.

I'm not too sure on it actually The website reads a bit confusing. Maybe someone has a link or more experience with miles and smiles and can shed some light on their requirements.

No, I think you have the terms right, good catch as I didn't read it closely enough.

Luckily for me they don't say it has to be Untied ticket stock and 3 of my 5 segments are on UA metal, including 2 transcons (7384) and the SFO-SYD leg (14834). With class bonus (included in the previous PQM), this flight'll get me to Platinum.

I may call in and ask about 1K, the DP I have from 2017 (https://liveandletsfly.boardingarea....us-matched-1k/) is that it would take 35K PQM, that may or may not (still) be accurate but couldn't hurt to ask, but it would take a fair amount of extra flying to make it. I may just take Platinum and keep working on Delta Diamond.

Thanks for the info on TK. I left SQ out for your reasons. I left UA out because of their spent requirement and I'm not actively trying to earn points with them. If enough are interested, I'll add it.

I included M&M since it's my program of choice and if there is not a better option I might as well get the award miles for them. Since this is my dead year with M&M, I was looking if it would be possible to achieve gold this year with this as the anchor trip.

I'm also considering crediting to Aegean and just do a quick trip to Greece, when I'm in Germany over the summer, to get their 4 segment requirement in, which then drops the requirement to 24k miles.

I've decided on VS for all but my last IAH>ORD which I will hope to retroactively credit to UA. My sweet spot for flying is pad PE on VS or Premium Select on DL and the miles from this ticket are enough for a 1-way US>LHR flight in PE, and that's quite a value. Plus they have a lot of transfer partners where I have straggling miles so I should be able to make it a round-trip pretty easily.

ORD-AKL-SYD roundtrip according to Webflyer mileage is 19060 miles. With the 200% bonus credited to VS that comes to 38120 miles. Based on the chart I saw that’s enough for RT in Premium cabin. Along with $685 in taxes, fuel charges etc

I’m not familiar at all with Virgin but that doesn’t seem like a good use of points as PY tickets on that route usually sit around $800-$1100. Am I missing something ?
