You still can. I am very close to pulling the trigger on a positioning flight DUS-JFK-FLR for £500...

The 'normal' positioning is €187... so.... it.... is.... the... logical... choice...?

It works perfectly if you have a trip to Europe prior, sometimes I buy 1-way award (TK), DY premium or FI Saga Class (vayama has good 1 way fare) to EU, no way in he ll am I flying cattle class for that long besides not getting enough miles, getting to Europe and start round trip fares there.

In theory, it is thus possible to book any itineray, (e.g. DUS-LON-ROM-FLR) and then as soon as you have flown the first leg (DUS-LON) you go to the ticket counter and change the rest of the itinerary to something more to your liking and on dates that you like (e.g. DUS-LON-NYC-SEL-PAR-FLR). You should then only be charged the change in taxes and surcharges, which should equal what people have been paying for these crazy itineraries so far.

In practice, they will just tell you that if you want to make any change, they will recalculate the fare to the non-error fare. In no way they will let you fly via another continent. You will even be out of luck if asking for a change within Europe. So better forget about this unless you are OK with spending the money on just intra-European route.

As I need to be going to Washington DC anyway, just gone for a £672 DUS-LHR-IAD-CDG-FLR on BA and AF that'll get me to Florence just in time for my other trip to Japan New Zealand, and Australia.

This has got totally out of hand, don't even know how I feel about it anymore

My outbound is a D fare, but my inbound is a Z fare, what are the restrictions, normally on a Z fare - The Z fare is LH...

I booked DUS-FCO-SCL-LAX-MEX-EZE-LHR // LCY-FLR for £860. Very happy ;)

Has a "public" EF been online for such a long time ever?

I mean AZ should have noticed it like yesterday around 1 or 2p.m. UTC+1

When do you fly? It's exciting in the heat of the moment, but once that wears off I often re-think too, if it is actually worth the money (compared to not flying , if you actually didn't need to) and time. A 32 hour trip each way is still a long time, business or not

there is no out and in bound. it's a oneway DUS-FLR, the letters do not correspond to how flexible the fare is. The fare rules are covered by fare code, DOW8C most probably in your case.

Very nice! ^

I have decided that for 2 trips I will fly out to Florence the night before and spend money on a nice hotel, some shopping and a very nice dinner instead of flying.

It is still fun making plans you know will never happen. :D

How many of us here actually slept last night? I think my head is all over this in the last 24 hrs.
