Chicago (ORD) airport question
Hi,
Flying from CLT - ORD on AA and flying out ORD on EY.
It looks like CLT-ORD on AA landing at terminal 3, Hxx gates.
EY leaving ORD terminal 5, Mxx gates.
Now question is, what is the quickest way to go from Terminal 3 to 5?
how long typically it takes from Terminal 3 to 5? Is this within sterile area? or exit and pass through security again at Terminal 5?
Thanks,
Appreciate your response.

wpr96 has answered your question, but I'm going to move this thread to our dedicated Midwest forum, which is where we like these types of questions to reside. Others may find it useful down the road.

There is new shuttle service starting on June 19 according to our local ORD source ords.

If you're flying before the 19th, you're stuck going landside and taking the tram.

Follow the signs that says "Airport Transit System" or "Airport Transit" or "ATS." They will direct you to the ticket lobby and then to a staircase/escalator that goes up to a bridge over the outside roadway. Cross the bridge and on the other side there will be stair/escalators down into the ATS station. Look for the signs over the doors that say "T5, Parking Lot E, G." A train will come within a few minutes and take you to T5.
Do not follow the signs that say "Trains to City." You'd be surprised at the number of people I've met near the Blue Line station looking for the International Terminal.
You will have to pass through security again.
You should make it in 15 or 20 minutes plus however long it takes to get through security.

As others stated, you'll need to take the ATS between T3-T5 and re screen.
I'd allow 20-25 minutes from walking from T3 to arriving at T5. Given you're on EY and depending on what day of the week you're flying, you'll have to contend with KE, AI, AM and 4O departing about the same time.
The hours for the proposed shuttle are still in flux, so I'm thinking either way you'll need to use the ATS.

Only 1, M11. This is the one gate modified for the A380. However I don't know if any airline actually uses the dual bridges to load. Sadly no airline has begun A380 service to ORD. ORD was much more of a glorious international airport, now it's just regional heaven. A380s serves LAX, SFO, DFW, IAH, ATL, IAD, JFK, MIA, BOS (Scheduled/Planned with BA) and HNL (Scheduled/Planned with ANA).

I wasn't aware that ANA was planning on acquiring A380s? Is this accurate?

I believe they start flying their first A380 in 2019.

And I really like their special livery.
