How about MUC? Even better for connecting, and they could advertise Bavaria, Octoberfest, Christmas Market, etc. It would be nice to see the A359 in CLE

Full disclosure: MUC is my favorite airport for connections 😁

Well, CLE used to have a fairly good automotive supplier base for the global purveyor of cars, 'tho most of the production had/has been offshored...

And Icelandair contends it will likely sub 737 Max flights with 757's to CLE and MCI."Passengers that are booked on an Icelandair flight that was scheduled on a 737 MAX 8 do not need to contact Icelandair in order to be rebooked on a flight. We will be changing the aircraft on affected routes to either a 757 or 767 aircraft."

There's a chance the Max might be airworthy by then. But, anyway, who knew CLE was important enough to FI get allocated that scarce resource.

So, any of you CLE boosters booked your FI flights yet?

RNE, hearing crickets.

Went to Clear at the South checkpoint yesterday (a Saturday morning) and asked the Clear agents "is Precheck operating now if I enter here" and they said precheck is not open so I should go to the central (TSA Pre) checkpoint. So be aware it is possible that Clear can be open at South but you'll still have to do the full body scan.

Hard to book an FI flight when they've zeroed out seat availability. There does not appear to be any available seats on any of the the Icelandair CLE flights - looked at May, June, July.

Maybe the city will be off the hook for the money they're supposed to contribute now.

Fingers crossed on aer lingus. At least dublin is both a leisure and business destination, and has better connectivity. If anyone is going to make Tatl service work from CLE its them with the a321. Maybe service to london, amsterdam, paris, or frankfurt would work if BA, KLM, AF, or LH were to get a321LRs. Iceland is fun and all, but there was/is no business O&D.

Plus then we would be able to burn up some avios, 13.5/20k for econ.

You and me both. But I'm still dubious that NEO'ers will embrace any such opportunity.

on the news tonight they are pulling out of Cleveland not just because of fhe 737 Max grounding. That is crazy had 2 airlines flying the route last summer and loads were good.
