They must be really great if it takes so long to obtain them !

As I mentioned about seven posts above, they are now posted on the website.

Am I so blind ? YES

Ops...
I could be wrong but yesterday from my Gold Offer link I saw exactly the same old list of offers (mexico and carabian plus vactions plus hertz ...).
After reading this post, I just tried once again and nothing at all because

I confirm I was wrong... the offers are there but to be 100% honest I perceive them as not soo impressive, at least for me. Perhaps the "have 2 entrees and pay only for the most expensive" can be useful but nothing to write home about... OK, a bit disappointed.

[B]My Silver offers have been the same for a while ---anyone see anything different for Silver Elite?

the Rewards Help Desk told me there are not any 'special' offers for Silver, only for Gold and Platinum

Most people find the 2nd Weekend Night Free (one each for Marriott and Renaissance) to be the most useful offers in the list, even though the best hotels are generally excluded in the fine print.

I've still used 'em in New Orleans on Mardi Gras Marathon weekend, in Chicago at a nice downtown Renaissance, at the Ypsilanti Marriott with a golf package (as long as it's a publicly-available direct-booked rate on Marriott.com, it's fair game), and at the Mall of America Marriott on Thanksgiving Weekend. No, I can't roll up on a Cat 7 London Marriott with my EEO, but they are still pretty useful certificates for my typical domestic-US weekend getaways.

Internationally, I either stay in boutiques or use something else like a Premium Pounds. The EEO's are less useful outside the US.

Unless you find your way to London, where the best deals for these B1G1's appear to be with the Cat 7's (Chancery Court, County Hall).

 Sorry to be dense.
What are you supposed to react if a Marriott property refuses a voucher (printed from the web) ?
It was late, you fulfilled anyway the requisite, no bright manager around and you were tired and wanted to flight back home. I presume all you can get is a nice " nothing nothing nothing, thanks for you understanding ."

Assuming I'd cleared the use of it at the time of reservation via the phone number that's printed in the T's and C's printed on the EEO I'd immediately call the Guest Services number on the reverse side of your Gold/Platinum MR card.

That should settle it, but I'd get the name of the CSR as a just-in-case you you can't get resolution on-the-spot and have to pursue it later.

A huge thanks to ntamayo for this. I was waiting so long for EEOs that I was sort of hypnotized into forgetting about them. I was booked for 6 free nights at Chancery Court, Thursday to Wednesday.

I was thinking the free night wouldn't work because two 2night awards is as many points as a 6 night award, and was really only hoping for the 2 for 1 dinner.

Turns out it wasn't applicable at CC BUT

they were having a 99 pound Thanksgiving special. So I get 6 nights as follows: 3 nights @ 99 pounds, one free from B1G1, and two nights on points. Woo Hoo!

Thanks agian ntamayo and FT.

Happy Thanksgiving all.

Received EEO in the Mail Today

I just received my EEO package of coupons in the mail today. I don't recall anyone else mentioning it yet. They have the same expiration date for the B1G1 (JAN 15) that the web site version had up for the last four weeks.

There is nothing out of the ordinary that I can see.

I used a web version a few weeks ago at the Pittsburgh Marriott, and they were not familiar with that version. After talking with the shift manager, they accepted it "subject to verification." They indicated that they would call me if there was a problem.

I didn't hear anything, and the folio had it correctly applied when I found it under the door the morning of check-out. For me it seems to be a 50-50 shot whether or not I have to get the charges corrected upon checkout when I use one of these.

Had a similar issue at the DC Mayflower where the front desk wasn't familiar with the online version; for some reason she was expecting to see some serial number on it.

There needs to be a more thorough training overall of desk staff to these online coupons.

Precisely what I experienced at the same hotel this past Sunday (and they weren't unique) - kept us from using Express Checkout and required a manager to correct and authorize a credit to an erroneous folio and the issuance of a corrected one.

For the life of me I don't understand why they don't print "hotel instructions" on these things (as they do with Bonus Bucks) or at least provide a phone number for the Front Desk to call when they're proferred at check-in.

In theory the phone call you make to "clear the use" of these things results in some sort of annotation to your reservation being made by Marriott Reservations that seems to be overlooked by the hotels.

This happens far too often.

I used the online 2/1 dining at the SLC City Center last night. At the end of the meal, the manager came over and, among other things, thanked me for helping him "realize that his restaurant participated".

I tried used the online 2/1 dining at a London property. At the end of the meal, the manager came over and, among other things * , thanked me for helping her "realize that her restaurant was listed as participant".

* one of them was she refused to honor it; at a certain point she even prentended the certificate was valid from Jan 15th, 2005. At that point I forgot she was a Lady and was a bit ... well, up to you to finish the sentence.
