And that surprises you? Actually it surprises me a little bit, as this is not characteristic of the Marriott I had hoped was getting their act together the past two quarters. It seems liek we have slipped into bad habits of the past, too bad.

I think perhaps Chris is in the same boat as us, as someone at corporate must be feeding him a line of Bull, too.

Chris, please pass our sentiments on to those at corporate for the useful information they have provided.

One would think that if the EEOs were going to be mailed today, then the EEOs would already be posted online as they the actual offers had to have been determined prior to printing the coupon books, much less the mail date.

Chris, could you specifically ask corporate why they have not posted the EEOs online if the offers have been determined are theoretically being mailed today? While we all appreciate you being the official representative here on FT, it doesn’t look very good for Marriott when corporate provides you with two dates, which you share with us and then someone drops the ball, not once, but twice. I still love Marriott, but this among other things like fighting for points to post from Hotels is getting a bit old.

Yes, I too am growing a bit "antsy" yet am still waiting patiently - or trying to at least! :)

True, but you're paying through the schnozz for that service, whether or not you have a problem. :)

Does not surprise me the least bit. My bet is that the EEO will be posted/mailed some time closer to the end of next week, if not the following week.

Wait a sec...I thought Chris indicated that the mail drop for the EEO's was today? Why are we panicking again? Can we wait until next week to panic?

I think we need a status meeting. Chris, please set up a conference bridge with 3000 ports, invite your Account Director from the marketing agency, the production director from the print shop, a representative from the US Postal Service, the VP of your internal marketing department, your IT operations director, the entire Marriott family, and Randy. We FT'ers need to see your project plan, SLAs with your vendors, and a discussion of who is going to get thrown under the bus when this is all over. And we need twice-daily follow-up calls until my EEO's arrive. I can be available for a status call as early as 7AM CST, but for anything before 9AM, please be sure to FedEx bagels and coffee to my house.

Thanks in advance!

;)

Good Customer Service is service, not matter where you do business. In this case I guess it depends on what type of merchandise appeals to you, and there are not many locations where you can buy the merchandise which Nordstrom sells for less...and if you can, they will always match your price....now that is service!

Wow, you waited until 6:51 AM.

I think the complaints are legit...

USPS et al don't have anything to with the offers getting posted online as stated here. You can argue semantics if they end up being posted by 11:59 pm today, but it seems to me they should be available now based upon this statement. :td:

Fundamentally, I agree with you. Good customer service and good, robust, efficient process should be baked into all customer touchpoints regardless of whether I'm at Nordstrom's or K-Mart.

I guess I had always assumed that the merchandise found in bricks & mortar department stores was pretty interchangeable. Perfume, clothes, maybe a little furniture, knick-knacks for Christmas, and all of the crap people register for for weddings... I haven't been in one in years.

Hey, I'm in Greece at the moment. My comment logged at 651am, but that was like 151pm my time. Can ya cut my internal clock a little slack!? ;-)

Nothing is present ...

Hi all. It's Nov 4th and all I see as EEOs (Gold) is what was already present in the last months.
1) Something on Vacation Club International
2) Caribbean and Mexico.
(generic on purpose).

Chris, can you please provide any status ? Even a "due to technical unexpected problems the EEOs will be posted on Feb 28th, 2006" could manage expectation of elite members who access FT in a better way.

Marriott Concierge Nov 4, 2005 1:58 pm

As you are all aware, the Elite exclusive offers are still unavailable online, despite my promise that they would be there by Thursday. In addition to being a little embarrassed, I am trying to find out when they will be and why they are not there yet.

pinniped Nov 4, 2005 2:02 pm

Just out of curiousity: is the online posting of the awards really all that important? Other than for our information... I mean, it's still the coupon itself that is required to redeem the EEO awards, correct?
