Chris-i

My understanding was that the EEOs were also scheduled for mailing by 11/3.

Status?

Many thanks (I know it's tough being the messenger.)

Nope.

Chris, while it is frustrating, it is a pleasure for us to have you here to be the messenger (both ways).

Being a member in Toronto I have always experienced a delay in receiving the paper vouchers, many times not receiving them at all... I was happy to hear that they finally would be available on-line....

Not much better!

Any chance of extending expiry of these new offers?

It's in the mail

I'm pleased to hear I'm not the only one with problems when I ask for things from Marriott. Those bloody paper promotions keep coming, and coming, and coming, and coming (talk about junk mail!). But my Platinum Card has never turned up, despite being requested twice

Did you call Chase?

In correct. You can use either the paper coupon that is sent in the mail or print it off the website once its posted. This is much more handy for anyone that is gone from home months on end like myself.

When are the dot com EEo's to post?

Chris,

Can we hope for the coupons to post to Marriott.com by Friday??

I have a stay that it would be nice to use for.

Thanks,

WT

So basically, elites have an unlimited number of EEO's to use within the given (valid) time period, correct? I'm fairly certain there is nothing systematic in my account that flags whether or not I've redeemed an EEO award.

Plus, I have 1 paper certificate that I can give to a non-elite. I am going to assume that I can't give the electronic copies to a non-elite, but heck...maybe that's a bad assumption too!!

Wishing Well Wish Du Jour....

"That Marriott would be as timely and proactive with EEO mailings as they are with their damned credit card offers".

(Sigh)

Terms & Condition state clearly that the offer is valid once per member. The online certificate does indicate your MR#, but the paper does not. When asked for clarification, Chris indicated that a member could use the paper, and online offer once each (giving you the offer twice). Same with dinners too. (And with Renn. & Marriott being different offers, well you get the point). While I haven't heard anyone being "caught" for using more than there entitilement of offers, I hope that Marriott doesn't find that a few of us, ruin it for everyone?

Jonathan,

I have used the paper and the online and I haven't seem to run into a problem. However, I have not tried to use multiple online printouts....I think that might be where Marriott draws the line.

How does Marriott draw the line?

Don't get me wrong: I hope they do have this tightly controlled so that people don't have unlimited EEO's. I know Marriott doesn't intend for us to have unlimited EEO's (frankly, two each at Marriott and Renaissance should take care of even the Gold/Plat road warriors, given the limited timeline of the certificates). I'm just trying to understand what's really happening here.

My fear would be that they've inadvertently created a loophole that some could exploit - say, printing off 500 online certs and giving them to everyone in their office. (I'd even say eBaying them, but whenever I see an EEO on eBay, people don't seem interested in it.)

If hotels are instructed to look at the MR# when someone uses an online cert, but allow anyone to use the original cert, then perhaps the biggest loophole is closed. If you're a Gold/Plat staying at Marriott every weekend, perhaps Marriott is simply saying "more power to ya" - we'll take the business, even at 50% off.
