Providence Marriott

Does anyone know if the lounge is open at the Providence(RI) Marriott on the weekends? Staying a weekend in September.
Thanks:confused:

Hey everyone,
Just returned from the SF Marriott downtown and the CL is now open 7 days a week.......could someone change it on the list on page 1?

Just a warning, this hotel is packed right now during tourist season and everyday that I went, there was a line to get in. The lounge is very small so go EARLY on during each meal presentation to avoid the lines......one night, the line to get in stretched all the way down the 18th floor hallway.

Additional Information and Correction

The Gaithersburg Washingtonian is actually located in Maryland and not DC. This hotel does not give free breakfast to gold and platinum members on weekends.

Dayton Marriott

The front page indicates th Dayton, OH Marriott as CLOSED (COUPONS). My recent experience suggests it should be changed to CLOSED (NO COUPONS).

Yeah; unfortunately, on occasions such as you mention it's never clear whether, in fact, the hotel has changed its policy, or you just happened to deal at the front desk with a lazy or ignorant front desk clerk. For example, at the Renaissance Skydome (Rogers Center) in Toronto, what you are told concerning a breakfast certificate appears to depend entirely on the front desk clerk who checks you in or the front desk manager who happens to be on duty when you check in.

I reported before that the AMS Marriott EL was open on weekends. Reconfirmed today that that is still the case.

Was told by my contact that all Marriotts are only required to stay open 5 days. The weekend decision is by property. AMS tried a few years back closing on weekend, and had a lot of complaints. So they decided to maintain the 7-day/week 'to better meet the needs of their customers'. Good for them! AND - they've got some of the nicest EL staff I've ever run across.

Also found out that they now have 2 free internet terminals in the lounge.

Netherlands...Amsterdam....Marriott...OPEN...2 free i-net terminals

Cheers.

I was able to stop over for a night in Shanghai and stay at the JW Marriott there. Extremely nice hotel. Wanted to add that while Internet access is a little pricey from the rooms, there is free wireless access from the CL.

China.........Shanghai.....JW Marriott, Tomorrow Square..OPEN(Free I-Net in CL)

I am currently staying at the Seattle Renaissance and I'm here to report the concierge lounge is open all weekend!
This is a fabulous hotel; I'm here on points for 3 days and they gave me a corner suite on the 27th fl (28 is a restaurant). Coffee and newspaper of your choice is at the door with your wake-up call. Fresh towels 2x a day, ice with the turndown service. A little piece of heaven in a very lovely city!

Corection for your listing:

It should read:

Anaheim Marriott - Closed

I will find out later today when I get there if I get coupons.

SEA REN CL being open on the weekends must be new. When I stayed there previously it was closed on the weekends & they gave you vouchers for bkfst in the restaurant.

Cheers.

Really, no comp breakfast on weekend? I will scratch this one off my list of MR hotels to stay.

VA1379 Sep 3, 2007 12:04 pm

Yes, they do not comp any free breakfast on the weekends. They have a nice CL during the week with breakfast available until 10:30, but the weekend breakfast is priced $3 more than during the week ($15.95 vs $12.95). I do not know the Maryland Marriott properties that well, but almost all of the FS Marriotts in northern Virginia will give you a free or reduced priced breakfast on the weekend.

Just returned from Trumbull (CT) Marriott.

Lounge closed on weekends, Plats tendered breakfast (Healthy Start) coupons (w/o prompting) at check-in.

We were on a S4B rate so it was N/A but I believe that the above entitled bearer to anything they wanted from the buffet (other than omelette station).

BTW, this property was formerly franchised to Interstate Hotels. Found out from one of the Mgrs. it was recently acquired by the Marriott Family Trust w/management being assumed by MI.

They are about to embark on a top-to-bottom reneovation (Public areas + updating of all rooms to the latest Marriott/Ren standards including TVs).

England.........London.....Heathrow/Windsor Marriott....OPEN (but no food)

Note that this hotel used to be named the Slough/Windsor Marriott (and still shows up that way online.) But per a number of signs in the lobby, they have changed the name today (Sept. 3, 2007).
