The breakfast buffet at the Marriott Champs-Elysees is indeed fabulous. Mr travelbls is a plat and we did both receive the free breakfast. In fact, on our second day I went down and had breakfast ahead of him (so I could get to the shops as soon as they opened!) and it was not a problem at all. Be sure to try the little smoothies!

Was the free breakfast for everyone in the room or only the Plat member?

The free buffet breakfast was for both Mrs. Cholula and me. And she has no status with Marriott.

So there's $90 saved. And the buffet is open until 11 AM each day so if you eat a late breakfast, you can kill two birds with one stone and have some €'s left to spend on an overpriced French dinner. :)

My favorite parts of the buffet were their varied and upscale cheeses, bacon cooked like most Americans desire (crisp rather than fleshy/rubbery as I experienced in the rest of France) and the unique sauteed baby mushrooms. They were hardly bigger than a pea but each had the traditional shape, color, texture and flavor of a regular button mushroom.

Vienna Imperial Riding School Renaissance

Lounge open on weekends. It is on the ground floor in a separate building just across from the hotel lobby. Excellent evening treats and breakfast, plus very unique design.

Anyone have an update for the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle or the Renaissance across the street? Based on some other info, I heard that the Ren CL may be open on weekends?

Rennaissance Washington DC Conv. Center: Closed on weekend, no coupons, not very competent either.

Question: Does San Diego Del Mar give coupons on weekends?

So it seems the new lounge is finally open. The old one was on a higher floor but also nice.

Does anyone know whether the London Renaissance Chancery Court lounge is still open on weekends? The last report on this thread was in 2005. :)

Can anyone confirm this?

Phone agent on the Plt line informed me yesterday that ALL concierge lounges were closed on weekends across the Marriott family. I had inquired specifically about the Ren LHR, and he volunteered the other info.

That sounds incorrect because I was told by a reservation agent that the Seattle Marriott Waterfront's lounge is still open on weekends in early June. Also, I was at the Renaissance LAX last weekend, and the lounge was still open.

We better have that agent call the JW Marriott in Cairo and the Cairo Marriott as they have been leaving their CL open the last three weekends. Oh, the Wuhan Ren, Shanghai JW, and the Singapore Marriott better get a call too as they all still have their CLs open on the weekends. I've been to all three of those Marriotts fairly recently.

In general, most US based Marriotts seem to close their CLs on the weekends. My experience has been that quite a few non-US Marriotts keep their CLs open all days including weekends.
