I agree to try and stay on topic as much as possible, CONCIERGE LOUNGES OPEN ON WEEKENDS. However, human nature is what it is, so no throat jumping people, okay? :D

Let's cut to the chase, is there any US Marriott's with CL's open on the weekends? I'd glady head there. Thanks

I am not sure this is what you wanted, but this is what you asked for, so here goes: Once per year, on the second weekend in May, the CL at the Washington Marriott at 22 and M Streets, NW is open, because the hotel is 90% full for a business conference.

* Woo-hoo!!! Like I would make a reservation at a hotel for that - given that 99% of the folk booking would know of the 2d weekend in May - not  Honestly? USI, you know I like you but really?

* And crikey - you too. I like you as well, but again, such a limited event.

Geesh you folk - come on. You know better. We're talking exec lounges open - oh yeah - on a REGULAR basis on the weekend.

Perhaps that's what we need to do - change the title of the thread to - lounges open on a regular basis on the weekend in America - but then, oh yeah, that thread would die pretty quickly.

I like Marriott a lot, but yup - they're not the same as the other chains on a reg basis on the weekends & are behind the curve. But again, maybe we need to rename this thread. Hey 'If You're Lucky You Sorry Blokes, You'll Actually Find a Weekend Open In America' thread ;)

Cheers.

Hi Sharon. What event? Post 693 says nothing about an event.

Event was the wrong word. Sorry. Should have said on a 52-week basis - or more accurately, singular property!

Goodness knows, unlike one only poster, I would certainly make my ressie in the ENTIRE COUNTRY based on which property had a lounge open on the weekend - not

Again, back to my point - the MAJORITY (ie, probably 90%) of FS Marriotts exec lounges are closed on the weekends, so folks, don't be making your ressies hoping for that 10%! If you want that, head to the other chains where most (not all in fairness) are better.

In addition to Marriott being stingy on their upgrades, they also suck the big one with regards to exec lounges being open on the weekends compared to other chains.

I like Marriott & I'm not leaving them, but I'm not drinking the kool-aid either.

Cheers.

Maybe it should be said that Marriott stinks on upgrades if you don't ask pretty please? Because I do ask pretty please, and this year, I have gotten upgrades to suites in every stay in FS, REN, and CY brands for every single stay I have had. The only time that I did not have an upgrade was at a MVCI property. Each time, I knew how to ask pretty please, and I got what I asked for.

OK, that's completely off-topic, and you know it. This thread is becoming a shambles.

I agree we should get back on topic. Maybe we can get the first post updated. I'm on the last post so don't know who started it, but perhaps s/he could update it w/ lounges that are open on weekends & also approximate dates when they were reported so.

Or - if we prefer - lock this one down & start another thread & I'll take the job of keeping it updated w/ lounges that are open & closed.

Cheers.
