I have it, too, and only looked for it because of this thread. Maybe I'm getting this instead of the holiday email.
|
I've never even noticed the logo, but having seen this thread, had a quick gander, whaddya know, PP on 95 nights :p
Only minted to PLT this year on rolling calendar basis and have another 4 nights booked to end of year, so can't see this hallowed image remaining though! |
I still have the PP logo but listed as PL. I sure hope it is true.
|
Just logged and saw that I was Plat Premiere this morning! Highly unorthodox given that I only signed up for MR in May of this year and have spent only 85 nights in mid-range properties.
...back to reality! |
Interesting... I'm seeing the Platinum Premier logo, but it still says "Elite Membership Level: Platinum". I'm 161 nights YTD, mostly Renaissance and FS.
|
Bingo Bongo, Platinum Premier Elite logo for me too! Platinum since 1994 here. See Logo Image on my profile
A new thought, Marriott is changing the names of the tiers, Platinum is to become Platinum Premier, and Platinum Premier is to become Diamond, ala Hilton Diamond, or the new level added for Delta Medallion, Diamond Medallion, as in Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, EXCEPT, now everyone is Premier, Silver Premier, Gold Premier, Platinum Premier, Diamond Premier, in order to add a certain cache, or "je ne sais quoi" to the Marriott Elite programs. Thoughts? |

I might be the lowest with the Plat Premier Logo
I bet this is just a web developer's mistake. I've only got 70 nights (including 15 from the credit card) and just became a Platinum for the first time this year for reasons unknown to me except I may have made it with the help of some rollover night from last year.

Platinum Premier does exist--I am in it.
Need to have about 125 nights a year for three consecutive years, Top three percent of stayers. |

Silver: https://cache.marriott.com/Images/Re...go_174x168.jpg which says "silver elite" Gold: https://cache.marriott.com/Images/Re...go_174x168.jpg which says gold elite or this one: https://cache.marriott.com/Images/Re...go_174x168.jpg which is named platinum_elite but clearly reads Platinum Premeir |
where is the logo? I never saw either the old plat or the plat prem logo on the new website.
|
On the righthand side in My Account Overview, just above special offers.

However, even with all the above that I just wrote, from some of the postings that I have seen over the last few years regarding people who have become PP, if they were all to be believed as to who is actually PP (the last month or so excepted due to what has been discussed in this thread), and I believe that they have almost all been truthful, even though there are supposed to be hard and fast guidelines, the rules do SEEM to be somewhat arbitrary. |

From what I have been told by more than one source, including Mr. Marriott's office, it is NOT simply the number of nights in and of itself! It is the number of nights, plus the revenue incurred, considered together, within the top 3% of Marriott Rewards members. There are people who might stay 200 nights per year at hotels averaging $125 per night ($25,000 gross revenue) who will NOT make PP, but others who will stay 110 nights per year at hotels averaging $455 per night ($50,000 gross revenue) who will make PP.
