I'd always go with the marriott.com status. Mine shows:

I also received the same (or similar) e-mail today. "Hmmm," I thought, "they've finally caught their error and put me back where I belonged."
But I checked the MR site and I'm still listed as PP. |

NYC Hotels
Just made PP a few weeks ago...:) Looks like last year’s splurging for stays at the JW and Ritz paid off. I will be in NYC every week for the next few months, so will post more updates in a few weeks (Marquis on Times Square & new Autograph Collection coming up)

Told me to go down and check with front desk. So I change out of PJs, into day clothes, run down to front desk only to get sent to gift shop. Pay $9 for 3oz bottle of solution. Not dissapointed, becuase it was what I expected, but the same thing happened to co-worker at SPG hotel recently and they brought a bottle to his room. Property: Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Manhattan/Times Square Length of stay (repeat stays?): 3 nights (stayed there 3 years ago) Greeting: “Congratulations on being PP! While it may be amusing to thing that Marriott favors men, I don't think they know. I don't see any indication of gender on my MR account, not even the "salutation" (mr/ms/dr) field that some companies collect.
