Marriott Grosvenor Sq, London

Property: Marriott Grosvenor Sq, London
Length of stay (repeat stays?): 3 nights /2nd stay; plus 1 night for friends' room; all on redemption points
Greeting: Very friendly; asked if we wanted suggestions for visits, theatre etc. No specific mention of status.
Room upgrade: not for me and missus, but friends got a suite
Suite upgrade: as above; our room had a bottle of Piper on ice when we got there; friends' had a bottle of red wine.
Special requests filled: Always ask for a quiet room, which we got and probably why no suite upgrade for us as it was on the inside of the hotel. Friends' suite was on outside corner overlooking the Square. Not bothered, as prefer quiet to space. However, did not get a room on a high floor meaning...
Other: ...being on the first floor and having wooden floors covering the room above, all sound was amplified, to the point where it sounded like ball-bearings were being dropped on the floor at regular intervals. Lounge service is great for breakfast and evening drinks, with regular replenishment and service after the advertised hours.

PP no 20% on food and no Golf clubs

Just got my package. Am I missing something? I do care about the food.

Look at the back of your card. Mine says 20% off on food at FS properties (excluding resorts).

Did you guys notice too that there was a flyer inserted in the "solar charger" gift sent to us that says from now on it only takes 75 nights a year to renew PP, not 100, and that last year's nights would be adjusted (mine have already) to rollover from 75 and not 100?

I still haven't gotten mine yet. This is getting to be last minute.

Any other PPs not get their amenity kit?

I have not got mine yet either. They were not in today's mail. Oh Well, maybe tomorrow :)

Just a quick clarification, your nights will start to rollover after you have earned 75 nights (not including nights that have rolled over from the previous year). This does not mean though that Platinum premier will have been renewed at that point. Platinum Premier continues to be awarded based on the top 3% of platinum members. This means the threshold could change from year to year and most certainly will not be 75 nights.

Regards,
Ira

Ira, do you know if they went strictly off of nights for PP renewal?
If so, do you know what the cutoff was?
Last question - did previous rollover nights factor in differently for PP renewal?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks-I missed that...and I use that ALL THE TIME! ^^:p:D

This has driven additional revenue to MR from me. Now I just need to decide if I keep SPG Plat and Hyatt Diamond, or drop one of those or both of those...oh the decisions!!! :D

Plat Premier phone number change?

Any other PPs notice that the PP number changed?
I went to the PP benefits page on Marriott and noticed that they still had the number from last year's card listed there ... 877-xxxxxxx. On the new card, the number is 866-xxx-xxxx.
Anyone use the new 866 number yet? I prefer the old 877 number since I can remember that one easily since they've made a word out of the numbers.

Also for PPs - anyone notice the number between your MR number and the expiration date? I just noticed it. Last year, that number was 38163. This year, my number is 24043.
Anyone know what that number is for? I've got guesses and wondering if lower numbers are better. I had a pretty busy year last year which should've moved me up on any internal ranking system; this year I'll drop like a rock.

Non-PPs, sorry for being cryptic; the numbers aren't publicly listed. PPs should know what I'm talking about.

I used the new number. Worked fine and programmed into the phone. Really fast pickup and they did something old number did not do and call a hotel to get a lower rate for 1 day. I did not note the number but mines is 21226.
