Interesting I've been coming to the same Marriott in SA since Oct at least every other week.

Service level hasn't changed and I doubt I was getting the 'premeir' level of service previously. Same room. Sometime they do the turn down sometimes they don't.

Their solution to the internet problems their hotel is having is for me to move from the C-level to the lobby level where I might be able to pick up the wireless signal they have on the ground floor. I appreciate them trying to come up with a stop gap solution (of course they tell me the property owner has no intention to fix the internet anytime soon) but they don't realize that rooms on the C-level is one of the main benefits. So they have a problem but want me to give up one of my benefits to solve their problem. Odd.


Stayed at the Ren in Vegas last week for 1 night. At least they acknowledged my status and acted like it was important.

freeup, if I may ask....how long have you been Marriott Plat, has it been consecutive years, and did you get status solely from stays (not grandfathered in or anything?)

Yes..got the very nice book, United Airline upgrade certificates, Platinum Premier card good through Feb. 2007 and some other certs. The book was a very nice touch.

I was pleasantly surprised as well. I had hoped to get the book as a Christmas gift from family. Getting it from Marriott is better. Very nice.

Where were the UAL upgrade certs.? - i don't recall those being included. Unless they were in with the EEOs?

Not a hude deal - I don't fly UAL. Yet I have someone I would have given them to.

Oh well...

I also received last week my Platinum Premier package but no UA upgrade certs.

Me neither. Oh well...
