That "longevity-based" definition can't be right. I've been Platinum for many consecutive years now, never falling below 75 nights and usually exceeding 100 (115 in 2009). I'm not Platinum Premier.

It appears to be a combination, folks. One year of crazy travel will not earn PP, nor will several years of 75 cheap nights.
The 20% off dining certificates were nice, but rather limited in application--only good for 20% off 2 meals, no alcohol, and couldn't be combined with any other specials (so if a property had a 3-course meal for $50 or whatever, you couldn't use the coupon). The upgrade certificate was, as others have pointed out, a nice gesture that was completely worthless to me. I don't use points for free hotel nights, and even if I did I can't imagine using them for ONE free night, which is all the upgrade was good for. |
Funny-my logo is PL, my account login says PP. It also links me to PP benefits!!
I have been PP before, it was nothing to write home about, IMO. Am checking into a REN tonight, will ask and let you all know. |
After four years of Platinum, I made Platinum Premier this year. I had 160ish stays last year at a variety of brands (full service and Courtyard) ^

YEP-confirmed back to PP for me. And-after ALL of the B#*$#(*ING I did that I NEVER got suites.. blahblahblah the last time I was PP, guess what? Tonight, I am IN A SUITE-at a hotel that I never usually got the CL level at!!! And the suite is ON THE CL LEVEL!
So-PP is definately better then the last time I had it-so far. |
Carry-Over Nights for Platinum Premier
Hello Everyone,
I just talked to Marriott to see why I was missing 25 nights from the carry-over promotion. I was told that PP members carry over nights above 100 nights not 75 (Platinum). Does this sound right? DoubleD |

DoubleD I am also PP and carried over all of the nights above 75. This is my first time as PP so perhaps that is it? |
Think I remember seeing this when the promotion was first announced, so yep - seems right. It was followed by many people (including myself) wishing they could get platinum premier with only 100 nights ;)

It gets you 25 fewer carry-over night than regular plat. I've been PP for a year and think it's a total joke.
i fully agree...i have been PP for about 3 years...once in a blue moon it gets me SOMETHING good, but usually not.... |
I got 111 Nights for 2009, I once thought I could be PP, but I'm still the Platinum this year.
PS: I carried 36 nights to 2010. |
Does it mean this: ?
If I want to be a PP, I should fulfill the following: 1 At least 3 years Platinum 2 Exceeds 100 Nights per year is this so or is there something hidden? |
