Marriott discontinued these a few years ago. They are no longer available.

Well I've gotten a canned response to me email complaint sent to marriott through the 'contact us' link on the website saying they thank me for the feedback and will forward it to the appropriate people. I wonder if it even goes anyplace else to get read, or is the complaint just ignored totally.

Send my letter to corporate last week, so am waiting for a response from them.

agreed, not true at all; however it all goes hand in hand as Marriott keeps taking away, its always something, little by little, yet there are those apologists who keep saying nothing is wrong or nothing is gone

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree however I did think you might appreciate this line on the Concierge/Club Lounge standards

"Note: Additional hours should be determined by local market demand"

IIRC there's a thread on exec lounges where people have gone back/forth on them being open/not open/changing chains because of it . THIS thread is for EEOs & increasing list of exempt properties.

Cheers.

I don't think that is not exactly true - if they are on the participating list, there the booking agent at the Gold or Plat line does nothing other than book a public rate and check the list, but there is no blacked out list by date (at least that is what a plat agent told me when trying to book a room during a booked up weekend that I could have used the platinum availability guarantee... obviously no EEO's on the plat override).

If there is a major event, hotels can also demand an advanced purchase, which seems to negate the EEO.

Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa

Yes, the list has been lenghthened, but the sky is hardly falling.

Okay, so those in the know - which of these five NY "area" properties is most convenient to Manhattan in terms of ease and time? I got in on the expedia.ca for airfare but am now hunting a decent hotel rate.

the only reason I didn't notice as I guess I'm not affected is b/c I've stopped staying at FS Marriott Properties since the mandatory club lounge closures on weekends
Funny thing, Sheraton has now mandated lounges 7 days a week in 1/2011

Note that most every Sheraton does have a lounge as that is the brand standard.

My 'guess' is maybe Newark because of the public transportation running into the city?

Cheers.

The brand standard is very similar to MI's...optional at resorts

Their point was that the non-resort Sheratons are going to open 7days/week with their lounges, which the non-resort Marriotts are not doing.

But again folks, that discussion should probably go in the exec lounge thread so that people can post re: EEOs in this thread - and maybe krobbins can get an answer to his question

Cheers.

Sharon,

I understood that was their point - Hoyt Harper (Sheraton Brand leader) has done a terrific job of raising the bar and eliminating those who couldn't reach the new targets but IMO there is still a good ways to go to match MAR for consistancy (or even some other HOT brands)...there should be no question in anyone's mind that Hoyt has put a big bullseye on MHRS's back - it is his job to lift the brand and he's doing a great job of it but the rest of the compset isn't standing still either....

Cheers.
