So, do if I stay at other Marriott properties during this time, will I get the nights for both? I am platinum elite (lifetime), but the extra nights -if I get them- will put me to titanium. Otherwise, I can work on my status at Hyatt (or other chain).

Thanks
I saw peoples responses to this however there was no reference to the T+C of Marriott which specifically states this in black and white, I have my ambassador stating I cant earn on multple stays at different hotels for the same dates however I booked both as they are in different sides of town and so depending on how the day and the events went I would have a place to crash in both sides of a city. Now he is asking me which one should be posted but I thought I should get the points for both (nights for one is understandable) but he is sdaying points and nights should only be for one hotel.

is it normal for the points for the 2nd & 3rd room to not post automatically?

is the report missing stay link at Marriott.com the most painless way to get the points credited?

2 rooms booked w/my Bonvoy#, at hotel, I paid for one, another Bonvoy paid the other

Marriott is telling me that in order to get the points for BOTH rooms, I would have to pay for both rooms myself

I was never aware of this policy?

The other person that paid for the other room was told that because the reservation was made under MY Bonvoy #, he cant get the points either even though
he paid for the room !

Something not adding up here.

At a minimum, one of us should get the points for the 2nd room right?

The hotel should be able switch the other room to the other person's Bonvoy number and give them the points. You might try talking directly to the hotel to get the switch made. I have been able to accomplish this retroactively, but it is much easier to do at check in. They still might mess it up, but a phone call usually solves the problem.

The first part of your post is correct. You only get points if you pay for both rooms, same as SPG. What is different is SPG allowed you to get stay credit for multiple rooms. Marriott only allows one.

The other person who paid for the second room is entitled to the points/stay credit for that room. Hotel is wrong.

Theres a thread devoted to this subject.

Some hotels will change the Bonvoy number on the room occupied (and to be paid) by the other person, but the hotel could insist on canceling and rebooking the room at current prices since hotel rooms normally aren't transferable and minor changes often result in cancellation and rebooking at new rates.

This is what I was told in Bali earlier this year. The Westin said they had to cancel the previous booking and rebook under my number.

Which was fine, but I didn't want to pay the extra so I didn't in the end, so didn't change the booking.

OK not to beat a dead horse, but when I stayed at a Marriott property earlier in the year, I provided my account #, the room was paid for by our travel office, yet I still got points

There are lots of examples of hotels not posting the points correctly. (It's happened to me plenty of times.) Just be aware that if it doesn't go the way you are hoping, that you won't have a leg to stand on to request missing points.
