Stayed in Romanos for 5 days recently (as a couple).
- Got nice upgrade upon arrival (Deluxe w/ partial sea view => Grand 1BR Suite). Not sure whether this is due to booking via STARS agent, having Platinum status, or both combined.
- Breakfast was mainly buffet (decent), the only cooked-to-order options are eggs in various styles and drinks.
- The weather was absolute ..... Heavy showers with thunderstorms almost every day. Obviously hotel can't control that, but my understanding is that in the first half of October this is very atypical.
- The pools were open, supposedly Romanos' for Romanos' guests and Westin's for Westin's. At least in Romanos one pool is heated.
- If you go out and in on a car, someone will be there to measure your body temperature every time you come. Not sure what they'd do if it's high enough.
- We had 50EUR/day F&B credit as part of our rate, but it turned out it only applies to a limited set of restaurants. Only ~3 of them are open for dinner, and they were kinda busy, so you must book them in advance. For lunch there are definitely more options.
- There are some interesting activities at the resort, but many of them are too expensive unless you manage to find a small group on your own (because for any number of people between 1 and 5 the costs are the same).
- The night sky there is actually amazing due to being in a remote location with hardly any light pollution. I could see the Milky Way for the first time in quite a while. There is an activity called astronomical nights (where someone will show you planets and other interesting stuff, probably with something like a telescope), and it's very popular so we weren't able to book it.
- Some facilities (for instance, pools in the Spa) were sadly closed due to covid.
- F&B is expensive, but it's about the same order of magnitude as everything else along the coast. If you have a car, you may go to Gialova village to the south (~15 minutes drive) for decent options, but they are certainly not cheap either.

I've read though all the comments and feedback since the properties opened and there's some great info here, thanks to all. I have Titanium status and planning a family trip (3 adults, 10y, 4y) for this summer, leaning towards the Westin because of proximity to kids activities, but open to either property especially if you can dine across both. We'll need a family suite to sleep 5 and definitely hoping for the Infinity suite with the private pool. It's a bit disappointing that all the rates appear to include breakfast which would have been included with Titanium status.
a few questions to those who’ve stayed here before:
-do the family suites have one bathroom or two? really hard to tell from the room photos
-does anyone have a specific contact at either property beyond the generic concierge contact provided by Marriott?
-I'm assuming the properties are owned and managed separately, so this is unlikely, but has anyone been upgraded from one property to the other? also has anyone paid cash for an upgrade when perhaps they weren't offered an upgrade through status. This seems to be more common in European properties
-would it be fair to say the garden view vs ocean view is less important for the infinity suites, since they're all on ground level anyway?
TIA!

Ive been going to the Westin every year since they opened (bar 1 ) and never have seen this happen, though it wouldnt surprise me if it had.
It wouldnt bother me, but it might others.

From what I remember, there is a second bathroom with a shower.
No, only the reservations e-mail address.
I dont think they would upgrade you to the other property. They seemed to be managed differently.
It depends. The premium infinity suites have wonderful views. For the Infinity Suites, some of the Sea Views lacked a bit of privacy from what I could see, compared to the garden view ones...

Can anyone share info about the Westin infinity pools in the seaview premium infinity suites? Are they heated? Any rooms that you found more private in this category (Westin seaview premium infinity suite)? At present the equivalent Romanos rooms are twice the price.

No.
I've stayed in 10-ish rooms in the Westin with infinity pools and never seen one that could be described as private. They all could be seen by people passing by or rooms beside it.

Agree - private in the sense the pool is for your exclusive use, but not private in terms of being overlooked. In fact, most of the rooms wth a pool have another room with a balcony directly over them (although I never felt like lots of people were looking in...)

I plan to go to this resort next August and since I have a lot of points I was thinking to redeem them.
Anyway, by using this option, I believe that breakfast is not included, is it?
Do you know which is the price of the breakfast per person?

FWIW, I wouldn't go in August if you can avoid it. You are unlikely to get an upgrade if you have status. The place is usually full.

Romanos Premium Grand Infinity 1BR suites
Does anyone have insight into the Romanos Premium Grand Infinity one bedroom suites? Specifically trying to understand if there is any difference to note between the Seaview and the Seafront (other than the obvious fact that Seafront should be super close to the foliage at the beach). Are the pools the same size at each? Any other differences? Is the Sea view still quite close to the beach? Does anyone have a map of the resort or know the location of the Premium Grand Infinity 1BR Seaview and Seafront suites at the Romanos?

Hi, the private pools in the Romanos rooms/suites are heated? Cause I’ll be there in early june and wanna know if it’s worth to apply a SNA for that kind of rooms/suites…or leave it to the upgrade-lottery (I’m a Titanium with a STARS rate). In case private pools are not heated (and in early june I think the water will be still too cold) I don’t see a reason in burning SNAs on this kind of rooms/suites…!
What do you think?
Thanks!

I know you said you are going in June, but based on what's available for my trip in July, it looks super busy there this Summer and SNAs may not work.

Yes...also in my dates the resort seems pretty full...! I didn't expect it honestly...we'll see!
Maybe I try to ask for an upgrade to a infinity room...without using the sna. Considering the combination titanium+stars rate I think there're not so many guests ahead of me in the "upgrade list"...!
