Stayed in Romanos for 5 days recently (as a couple).
  • Got nice upgrade upon arrival (Deluxe w/ partial sea view => Grand 1BR Suite). Not sure whether this is due to booking via STARS agent, having Platinum status, or both combined.
  • Breakfast was mainly buffet (decent), the only cooked-to-order options are eggs in various styles and drinks.
  • The weather was absolute ..... Heavy showers with thunderstorms almost every day. Obviously hotel can't control that, but my understanding is that in the first half of October this is very atypical.
  • The pools were open, supposedly Romanos' for Romanos' guests and Westin's for Westin's. At least in Romanos one pool is heated.
  • If you go out and in on a car, someone will be there to measure your body temperature every time you come. Not sure what they'd do if it's high enough.
  • We had 50EUR/day F&B credit as part of our rate, but it turned out it only applies to a limited set of restaurants. Only ~3 of them are open for dinner, and they were kinda busy, so you must book them in advance. For lunch there are definitely more options.
  • There are some interesting activities at the resort, but many of them are too expensive unless you manage to find a small group on your own (because for any number of people between 1 and 5 the costs are the same).
  • The night sky there is actually amazing due to being in a remote location with hardly any light pollution. I could see the Milky Way for the first time in quite a while. There is an activity called astronomical nights (where someone will show you planets and other interesting stuff, probably with something like a telescope), and it's very popular so we weren't able to book it.
  • Some facilities (for instance, pools in the Spa) were sadly closed due to covid.
  • F&B is expensive, but it's about the same order of magnitude as everything else along the coast. If you have a car, you may go to Gialova village to the south (~15 minutes drive) for decent options, but they are certainly not cheap either.
