breakfast options?

We're going to be staying at the Westin CN this summer in a suite on points. Really looking forward to it given all the positives in this thread! What are the breakfast options and costs? Does staying in a suite automatically give us free breakfast? Any different breakfast treatment if I was SPG Plat?
Thanks!

I hate to break the news to you but I think every room gets you free breakfast...even the cheapest.

We are staying there in May.

I've been going there many years and I don't remember paying for breakfast once, however I don't ever remember seeing _anything_ written down that breakfast is included in all rates. in fact, award stays seem to not include it. Caveat emptor.

I went back to look at the rates....you are right...nearly all the revenue rates include breakfast...the cash and points or just points do not say it.

HUGE...but intimate. Gorgeous Environment. Stunning Architecture. (3 Photos)

The Westin Resort, Costa Navarino

Check In

Prompt, friendly, almost a little too thorough ( with such a huge resort there was a lot to go over and after a long drive it was a bit much) We were upgraded from a purchased Premium seafront room to a suite. ( more to come). Wisked by golf cart to our suite. Luggage arrived soon afterwards.

Room

Beautiful 2 room 2 bathroom suite. Sprawling terrace overlooking "L" shaped infinity pool, outdoor shower, and magnificent views of the coastline. Our building only had a few other rooms in it making it quiet and private....although you could never be distant from the sound of golf carts whirling about the car-free property.P1010439.JPGP1010444.JPGP1010447.JPG

Service

Top notch. With over 700 rooms it amazes me that they knew my name by the second day. My husband and I were both sick with the flu, serious enough to call the house DR. At check-out the GM was called and she came out to check on our health and well-being. A lovely gesture and a nice conversation insued.

Dining

Mostly room service for us as we were not feeling well. The food was fine, promptly delievered and dirty dishes removed. It was a bit expensive but we had been experiencing small village restaurants for the past several weeks before our stay so our perspective was skewed. There are 7 or 8 restuarants on this property...so many in fact they hand you a map and calendar of hours as some are closed at odd times. ( My husband couldn't find anything open after 2PM for lunch). We both had the spawling breakfast buffet ( including in the room price) the morning we departed. Impressed by the sheer volume. I need to give it another try before a proper review could be written.

Location

In a beautiful not well know part of Greece. ( The western Peloponnese). Having been to Greece dozens of times in my life...this was the first time to this part. It has a gorgeous coarse sand beach that goes on for miles.

A minor annoyance......whether it is location or season ( there seemed to be a difference of opinion as to it's source....practice runs or crop dusting) for the two days we were there during 8-5 there was a persistant buzzing of a small aircraft plying the skies. We never could see the plane(s) but always heard them.

I just wish the property was a little closer to Athens. ( 4 hours by highway and local roads after Kalamata)

Overall

Not usually our thing ( HUGE sprawling resorts) I was surprised at how impressed we were and how I wish we had been feeling better to really explore the place. ( My husband was mid-way through the fluand I came down with it hours after we arrived)...but the taste we got was exceptional and we would return for a proper visit.

Between the pools ....no. But we never heard nor saw another guest in our small complex. The pool was warm enough to swim in but because we were not feeling well we did not. I think we had the largest room listed at 70M. There was a larger named suite not far from us.......looked enormous......I assumed it was the equivalent of the presidential suite. I thought I read a post a year or two ago about some FT member staying in it.

I've stayed at the Blue palace and the Westin ( which sits with the Romanos). Both beautiful resorts.....my pick would be the Romanos which has a spectacular miles long sandy beach......the beach at the Blue palace is small and rocky....not sand. I also thought the service and food were better at the Peloponnese locations.

Stayed at the Westin Costa Navarino last week. In summary:

+ Large, beautifully-landscaped, peaceful resort that has been cleverly designed
+ Easy access to a great beach
+ Generous and convenient provisions of beach towels
+ Even at high occupancy, there is little noise; the childrens areas and family pool are far enough from the main pool that only time you see or hear most other guests is at breakfast
+ Most revenue rates appear to include breakfast, and its a high-quality buffet spread in a nice space
+ Free parking, if space available

- Breakfast is very, very busy
- Housekeeping erratic; didnt get any cleaning on the first two nights and they only seemed to want to clean the room at 8am or 4pm when we were in it. Water bottles were not replaced on two nights, even after request, so took from minibar.
- Platinum benefits complied with the T&Cs of SPG, nothing more. 2pm checkout refused due to high occupancy; no SPG offers in any of the restauants or bars; got a one-category upgrade to an Infinity Suite which look similar to the one above but with a smaller unheated pool and patio overlooked by neighboring rooms.
- Suite had open-plan bathroom/bedroom, not my preference
- Even by resort standards, some of the restaurants are grossly overpriced with service ranging from patchy to atrocious.
- Bewildering size, especially if you arrive at night; I spent most of the first night hopelessly lost.
- Front desk was cheery but slow, inefficient and not at all helpful; I had to argue to get the water taken off the bill and was refused a request for 500 Make A Green Choice points in lieu of two nights missed housekeeping.
- Nobody on checkout asked how the stay was.

Overall, I would be very happy to stay here again if the rate was right, but I would double down on buying drinks and snacks at a local store and on eating outside the resort for dinner. The resort isn't doing enough to earn my $$$ for these extras.

I've stayed here on reward nights many times (7 times?) in July and August including this year. Where do you see that they are blocking out periods?

It could be they have a minimum night requirement for awards. They didnt have anything less than 5 nights in October, for example.
