The sliding doors and low water pressure are too bad. But I am one of those who prefers a freezing cold room, and it's pretty rare to be able to use the Platinum breakfast amenity for in-room dining (which I enjoy) -- so it's great to hear about those features. I think I'll check it out one of these days if I can get the NUA to clear.

Thanks for the detail and photos.

No problem!
Like I said before, I stayed in a 'Fabulous King' base room on Wednesday night. NUA did not clear for anything, even the 'Cool Corner King', which I am guessing is because I was already upgraded just a half week before. More thoughts and pictures below, for those interested.

General thoughts about the 'Fabulous King' room:

- New thoughts about the hotel:
- This time, the check-in agent did explain some of the benefits of the amenity fee and included two slips with the room keys that I hadn't seen before - one for the amenity fee inclusions and one for general hotel info. See photos if interested.
- The area does get pretty lively on the weekend/holidays, due to the clubs around the area, including one located in the basement of the building itself, aptly named 'bsmnt'. Walked my dog around and there were people lined up for the nearby Royale and there's a decent amount of yelling and noise at night. Didn't really bother us in either room/stay over the night though.
- Got in-room dining for breakfast and was able to combine the $30/person/day elite benefit and the $20 daily F&B credit as part of the amenity fee. The F&B credit does not apply to minibar items, per the check-in agent. The receipt at check-out initially did not have the $60 elite benefit, so I had to ask them to apply it but it was promptly fixed. Link to in-room dining menu: https://taptastego.com/BOSWH/outlet/...a-749ed208ad68. We got the Creme Brulee French Toast and the Smoked Salmon Bagel this time. French toast was probably the best although it is definitely a very sweet dish, as the name implies. Would have preferred a more toasted bagel for the other dish but I would get it again.
- Also added pictures of the 'mixbar' menu. Basically, all the minibar items and other in-room items, like the speaker, martini shaker, etc.
- They did not charge the pet fee again. Not saying it's an official policy, but seems like they're not adamant on charging this as long as your pet isn't disruptive.
General thoughts about the 'Fabulous King' room:
- Pretty spacious and well-appointed for a base room. Nothing about the room seemed out of date, dirty, or needing immediate replacement.
- I thought the design of the room definitely felt more in line with the W brand. Some interesting wallpaper as soon as you walk in the room, a 'painting' of Edgar Allen Poe in the toilet room, no real blank walls around.
- The robes were actually different from the ones in the suite. This room had more of the rough towel-like feeling as opposed to the more fuzzy feeling robes in the suite.
- Small detail that I appreciated in both rooms - the do not disturb sign does not fall off when you open the door! We recently stayed at the Kimpton Marlowe in Cambridge and this bugged the crap out of me, having to put it back on every time I opened that door.

I booked a night here with a SUA, planning to stay only if we cleared to the Wow Suite in advance of the cancellation deadline. Thankfully we did, 5 days out. AAA rate was $183++, making this one of the best value SUA options I've seen.
$40 destination fee ($46ish after tax) is unfortunate but the View Boston tickets are an actual value add (we went today), and the $20 applies to room service. I used it for a glass of wine ($16++ --> $27.56 before the $20 credit). Room service breakfast was the real highlight for me--with the notable exception that they don't have real maple syrup, so bring your own mini. This was $63.72 (of which $60 was automatically removed), over medium eggs perfectly cooked and bacon extra crispy as requested without being burnt. (I dunked one into a yolks before snapping the pic.)

Service was outstanding. Email and text in advance. When I mentioned my kid was coming, they asked for his name... and had a stuffed lobster waiting along with a plate of 6 delicious macarons and some berries -- in addition to a box of chocolates for me:

4pm checkout was no problem. Air conditioning was blissfully cold as advertised (set to 65/hi in the bedroom and it was closer to 60 -- while I was able to keep it 67 in the living room for my kid). Shower pressure was indeed miserable, so it wouldn't be suitable for a multi-night stay but I will absolutely look forward to making this a regular one-night stay when the SUA clears!
