From where? From the airport, you could take the silver line to south station and switch to the red line. Take the red line inbound two stops to Park Street and walk (5-10 mins) from Park Street.

Option two is to take the airport shuttle to the blue line. Take the blue line to Government Center and switch to the green line. Take B,C, D or E train a couple of stops to Boylston. Slightly (1-2 mins) shorter walk than Park Street.

The closest T stop to the hotel is Boylston, on the green line.

Maybe we'll get upgraded to a room with a giant tub!

Cheers,
The Common and Public Garden are a couple of blocks away. Take a dip there?

Another stay here in a standard room--no upgrade but the FD was helpful and really did try to find an upgrade for me. Wasn't wowed by the wonderful room (compared to previous stay in a corner room) but overall the stay was very pleasant thanks in no small part to the excellent and speedy service. This property is unquestionably the best W I've stayed in from a service perspective.

Also, quick hint, it takes about three minutes for the room keys to start working. If you walk quickly up to your room don't be surprised if you have to wait outside your door for a minute or two until the key will register correctly.

This property is located conveniently between the Chinatown and Tufts Medical Center stops on the orange line.

Without prompting at check-in, the front desk clerk asked me whether I needed late check-out (which I did). My keycard continued to work past noon on day of check-out. The front desk clerk also offered me the option of Green Choice which I accepted. Although I did not receive a suite upgrade, I did not expect one on a multiple-night stay.

Upon walking in my room, I found a bottle of Fiji water and sweet-and-salty chocolate confection that I've received at other W properties. The room also had one bottle of complimentary Nestle water. My check-in packet also included a card that (similar to other W properties) offered one small bottle of Fiji water from the mini-bar per day.

I liked the window that could be opened for ventilation. I found this especially helpful when I brought food back to eat in the room so that the smell would not linger endlessly. I was also offered a microwave to be brought to the room free of charge although I did not take advantage of this option.

The one thing I did not like about the room was the see-through partition between the bathroom and bedroom. The partition is similar to what restaurants use to block sunlight with multiple small holes that still allow people to see through. I do not understand why they would use such a partition on rooms with two beds. One could expect two unrelated people sharing such a room.

The gym was more than adequate for cardio equipment although I found the weight machines a bit lacking. The gym did have an ample selection of free weights.

As detailed in my Platinum continental breakfast thread post, this property definitely fulfills the spirit of this benefit.

I booked the Acura car service without difficulty, and the Acura was ready at the appointed time. The driver declined my tip, replying "that's not necessary." The Green Choice bonus points posted to my SPG account 1-2 days later along with the points for my stay.

All in all, I had a very satisfying stay at this property and would return.

Couple of comments from my stay here last week

- Acura car service stops at 4PM on weekdays
- LOVED the charging station in the rooms. It's amazing that every hotel hasn't done this yet. Chargers are a dime a dozen, would be great to see these charging stations become more widespread because there certainly isn't much of a cost to it but makes the guest's stay more convenient. It was great that I didn't have to fiddle around with my chargers or forget to take them to the office in the mornings
- The lobby bar BLOWS. My first drink tasted like it was just an entire glass of mixer and when I asked the waitress about it, she said "Oh there's gin in there, I saw him measure it into there". Strike 1 - who the F measures drinks out (let alone a W) when the law doesn't require it? I've been to their "club", Descent, downstairs on a previous stay and there was most certainly no measuring going on in their drinks

Then my friend and I both asked for our next ones to be doubles (obviously we'd pay for it) and the waitress said "we don't do doubles". Seriously?! Strike 2 - why say no to doubles when the law allows it? Only other place I've been told no is Utah, and we all know their liquor laws are not typical.

The real insult was getting a bill for $14 per gin and soda when they contained a laughable amount of alcohol. Pisses me off beyond belief when businesses try to take the cheapskate way out like this. The majority of bars out there make drinks with freepours, why would you measure your drinks out when that's what customers expect?

Overall, I'd stay here again on a future trip, but would not spend a single dime at the bar.

A couple of updates regarding this property:
The Acura-W partnership ended so the Acura experience is no longer available.

The hotel's restaurant Market by Jean Georges closed on December 21. The lounge is still operating, but I don't know what kind of food service they have available without the restaurant.

You mean the lobby lounge, right?

Probably for the best...I ate at the restaurant back in October and it was just as bad as I remember it from my numerous visits last year. There were maybe 3 tables seated with a full staff on deck and the service was still terrible, and the food was pretty bad too. Hopefully something better pops up in its place!

According to the property's website, the lounge is still there.

I stayed here a few weeks ago. The breakfast service in the restaurant space hasn't really changed.
I didn't look for dinner offerings in the lounge, although I did order off the room service menu which appeared to be a full menu, although perhaps contained a smidge fewer offerings than were available when Market existed. I don't know if the entrees and such were available in the lounge space.

Anyone know if the Marvelous Suite has a separate living area from the bedroom, or is it just one larger-sized room with a divider (like at the W Union Square)?
