US Bank cut me off

I have the NW Visa and used it for several purchases of $ on my US Bank Visa Buxx card. But a few months ago they stopped allowing transactions to go through using that credit card and so I switched to another mileage earning card. Having to pay $2.50 per load of $500 forced me to decide that was it for me and so I stopped using it(reluctantly), since I too live 100's of miles from the closest US Bank ATM. I did load up on a trip to CA last month, but now won't be back in US Bank territory until sometime next year.

Vindesante, do you mean that your transactions were posting as cash advances or were they not going through at all?

99,944 Miles

Good Luck,

any clue what the total cost was in $$?
I rarely factor in stress of seeing if such deals will work, time (on line, in here, with cards and banks, etc) and the "cost"of one's SO freaking out when said CC bills top 10 or 15grand every month and you are trying to buy a house wondering if this will screw it all up (it did not for us)

anyway, for me, BofA never was, US Bank killed me off eventhough I had the NWA Visa, and Others are all gone for me now except Wachovia. I dont know my total costs but we all know they are better than buying miles or buying tickets! (wow, people still do that, dont they?)'

I am still on my vacation trip in Europe as I type this. I may get online once more before returning. Anyone have any ideas of Dutch gift cards by chance? I could grab one here in northern Holland and try it if such a thing exists. I doubt it though. Will have to check.

:)MM

I got in the game somewhat late for BofA VBx, and only had 2 cards. Of course knowing what I know now I probably would have maxed it out.
But I ended up with about 65K miles at a cost of about $250 (~0.4 c/mi).

And anyone else notice from the BofA VBx website, "Bank of America will... refund any annual membership fee assessed since August 2004." Is this date right? I'm guessing they mean 2005, but that'd be a nice going away present. :D

Back of the envelope math puts me at $530+ annual fees on 3 Bofa cards.

I was lazy, I did post office money orders which are more expensive than others.

US Bank would not let me use my US Bank credit card when I loaded money to the Visa Buxx card.

I was going to get NW Visa for US Bank's Visabuxx :(

BTW, I gotten total of 79K miles for $240.74 + annual fees. It was fun while it lasted...

Today I received in the mail a new B of A Visa Buxx card good 11/05 to 11/07. This was for an existing account that had a card good through 11/05. Does anybody think they changed their mind?

It'd be nice, but I doubt it. They probably just haven't done anything yet to close down the system. It's still active as of today (I was able to get another $500 load in ^ ). We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Anybody planning on loading the cards up and letting BofA Visabuxx cut a check via mail? Definitely would save some hassle and the money order fees. Not to mention a few extra cc points ;)

You have to be joking. For the price of a money order you may have to wait a long time, not to mention BofA may not get it right. Today they sent me a new Visa Buxx card, what does that tell you?

I wonder whether it's going to credit back to funding account?

My BofA Visa Buxx accounts are still showing as active. Who will be the first to try loading an account now?

/raises hand

Successfully did another $500 load and MO purchase today on one of my accounts. BofA must be slow in getting them shut down, as they are definitely still active.
