Try not emptying your accts immediately after loading them. I always leave about $50 in and I don't withdraw the money right after loading. Try waiting a week or so before withdrawing money. Just my "50 Cent".

good point. I had always been reluctant to leave my money in these gift cards in case something oes wrong and you have to wait weeks for what is yours... But US Bank's Visa Buxx was pretty quick to send it right back to my funding source, the NWA Visa, when they kicked me out, and so i guess it worked out ok money wise. Of course, they have yet to figure out how to get back the money from "the merchant" and I aint gonna give them any extra help!

They are trying to get back $491 and hey, they can have it but they should have just let my last transaction go thru instead of reversing everything out the way they did! Now they have to come git it!

USBank fee increase

For those who still have US Bank visxbuxx cards, the fee to load money is now $2.50, a 25% fee increase

FEMA and the Red Cross were supposed to issue a $2000 debit card for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

I hear they are still flubbing this one up. I also think I saw that it is from Chase...

I am hoping people get their cards, but I am just curious... do you think they know how to cash them out at places like Walmart??

Sounds crazy, but all this makes me wonder if Chase has any GIFT CARD that we could research/use/apply for even as a CC-paid one that we cna later cash out too???

Just a thought...

I received the same letter as well.

I have just this minute reloaded 2 cards for $1000 limit.I will purchase equal value money orders @ Walmart for 46 cents as has been my normal practice. So it appears we can continue to run this MOTHER until November 3rd.I may offend some with this comment if it does so be it.These mileage making opportunities we participate in no matter what type or kind are only as good as long as they last.My feelings are "do unto them because in the end they will do it to you".Sometimes we have a short memory when it comes to past promotions.Remember, the disclaimer many of these companies use as their fallback position."WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE or CANCEL THIS PROGRAM AT ANYTIME" and do so many times without any prior notification.( ie Amtrak/United) I respect their right to do whatever they want its their deal.I also believe I can play their game as long as I do nothing illegal. This Visa Buxx money tool has been arround a long time I only wish had got in at the beginning.Great ride.Sorry I didn't have 27 cards.

Just this month BofA sent me new Visa Buxx cards for expiring accounts. This is truly a very sad day!

Please say it is not so. :(

it does stink, but as we all know, no matter who or what starts the process, change just does happen. once agian proven by this sad occurence.

That being said, my advice is to power load and power dump. Do it now and do it often. Go get all the mylez you can --and who cares about trying to stay beneath any 'radar' with the GC institution (except, of course, with places like Walmart, etc, where you do your cash outs... you want to maintain working relationships with them in case other GCs are still usefull there)

The banks who change things to end these programs now cannot really care how your activity looks, so just go nuts and get out so they owe you like $1 or something and nothing more!

I only have a wachovia card left. I hope it doesnt die but I actively load and dump it because of the fact that I know it too may one day just up and die like this one has.

good luck and godspeed!
:)MM

Since you seem to have the most experience with Wachovia cards, do you do MOs at Walmart?

ned Sep 23, 2005 12:19 pm

Have others received this letter?

no, and enough people have asked me how so I will come clean in here because here we are all the same:
I run it thru my office as a purchase and totally break nearly every rule in the book to process it but no one here knows and no one cares, so it works until wachovia one day figures out how and then stops me. I have not used WM and what I am doing probably would not work in most places you work because we have a small shop and corp rules can be circumvented... so see if that can work where you work but BE CAREFUL! I should have done it with other cards and they may have lasted. Seems this experiment--which, due to its nature--I would have to let others figure out with their own offices on their own--is not so widely promoted, but it sure did last--so far.

have a great weekend and of course, go sox!

:)MM
