Looks to be. After calling US Bank, they called me back and said I can get a credit for the cash advance fee as well. ^

How much can be withdrawn at one time with a US bank VisaBuxx card and with a Wachovia VisaBuxx card? I know what the T&C say but thought I have read that the amount may be larger in practice.

US Bank is $500/per 4 days according to a US Bank CSR.

I was able to load with US Bank Visa (NWA) and it came in as a puchase on Friday. Will wait a couple more biz days to try for another 500. Seems fixed but will see if it lasts.

Why do they need a social security number to set up one of these cards?

Does it show up on your credit report?

I have/had a decent credit score and bought many a card, loading my Citi MC, for example, to well over $14,000 pretty much every month, but paying it off to both bring down the bal but also have no charges or fees. I used these cards--and continue to do so with a relatively high velocity and no, I have never seen a blip on my CC report but if it is there, it is an inquiry at best. As well, none of this--including that 14k bal, affected me in any way whatsoever when recently purchsing a new home. I have a decent income as does my wife, but we pushed the envelope and already own another place, but still, nothing hhurt me CC or gift card-wise.

So go for it!

this has not been true for me at all. Historically have had no problem doing 3, maybe 4 loads of 500 per month on the US Bank NWA Visa with the USBank VBx card, but nothing more than that. I can often times do 1,2,3 in the same day or so, but once I loaded up to the max, it is not letting me for like 30 more days.

Wachovia does, but not US Banks VBx card!

Has anyone had US Bank Visa Buxx cards shut down lately or is the crackdown over for now?

My Bank of America Visabuxx cards were all shut down today (7/29): I got an email, with no explanation of why the accounts were shut down. In fact the form letter seems to be the one they use when the customers requests the account closed, since it ends with the hope that if I change my mind I should contact them!

They have not accepted new customers since around March, but have done nothing to restrict existing customers until now.

On the other hand, getting credit for the cash advance fees is proving to be a nightmare. They want faxes, I fax exactly what they ask for, and then they do nothing. It's a hassle.

For the first time in almost two years the Bank of America Visa Buxx site is acting funky. It appears to be credit card specific as I can not load with a credit card that has worked for almost two years. Anybody else having new issues with Bank of America Visa Buxx?
