Just received a letter from Bank of America saying that they are terminating their participation in the VisaBuxx program as of Nov 4, 2005. All accounts will be closed and checks sent for the balance.

What are my options now ?

Anyone beside me not received the letter from BofA informing that they were discontinuing participation in the VisaBuxx program November 4th?

I haven't received one yet. But I'm not holding out much hope for my accounts staying intact past Nov 4th.

I doubt it. the letter didn't say they were closing my account effective November 4, it said they were ending the program november 4.

Wachovia VBuxx now lets you have two free ATM withdrawals per month. Either I missed this before or they (somewhat) recently changed it. So does anyone know if they enforce the $100 per withdrawal limit? If not, that could open up the Wachovia cards again.

hmmm, I never would try myself but did have to use the atm last week for my first and only time with a VBx card.

I took only $100 and got charged its fee:

9/27/2005 6484790 ATM Cash Withdrawal Fee $0.00 -$1.50 -$1.50

9/27/2005 6484789 552 COMMONWEALTH BOSTON MA US Terminal 0000F762 FI - Auto Tellers -$101.50 $0.00 -$101.50

but then, it rebated me the fee on its end!

10/1/2005 6539235 ATM Cash WD Fee Rebate 09-27-05 Manual Adjustment Credit +$1.50 $0.00 +$1.50

...and I also just read this on the wachovia VBx site:

Due to a system error, the first two ATM cash access fees per calendar month have not been systematically waived. ATM cash access fees incurred between May and September as a result of this error will be credited to your Buxx account on October 1, 2005. Effective October 1, 2005, the system will systematically waive the first two ATM cash access fees per calendar month.

Can the Wachovia VisaBuxx card be used to purchase USPS money orders?

The PIN is only for ATM withdrawals. If you try it as a POS it will get denied. Reason being the Wachovia card is not on the standard Interlink debit system which is what gets used for most POS debits. It's only on the PLUS system, and I have yet to see a merchant who accepts PLUS system debit cards (at least in my neck of the woods).

Has anyone else been affected by the new .75 charge on the US Bank VisaBuxx card for attempting an ATM withdrawl at a US Bank after having exceeded the daily withdrawl max? I always load $2,000 on each card I have (now 3). When I go to the ATM I'm limited to withdrawing $1,500 a day, and have to go back one week later to withdraw the remaining $500. The single withdraw limit is $500, so I have to do 3 $500 withdraws to get to $1,500. I'm usually on my cell phone and don't really pay attention to if I've done 3. This has always been fine in the past, as the 4th withdrawl attempt gets denied and I move on to the next card. However, last month I got hit with a .75 charge for attempting to do that 4th withdrawl. I'm ticked off at the stupid nickle-and-dime-type charge and am thinking about calling. But at the same time, it's only .75 (times 3 cards).

Anyone else gotten hit with this?

anything left in savings should be in INGDirect where you earn like 3.3%! If you wish me to refer you to join them (you can transfer money online between them and any bank acct you have) then we both make $ to do it! I would have to email you a link though. PM me.
