The 2 cards were in 2 different accounts (the only way to order new cards is
by using the "add teen" function in an existing account).

I think the two accounts is the problem. They are now saying only one account per parent. You can however have up to five cards in a single account.

After all 27 of my accounts were closed, I reapplied for 2 new accounts as suggested by one customer service rep. They both arrived yesterday and today I got an email informing me that one of the 2 accounts was closed (no explanation). Looks like some manager is manually enforcing a 1 card account per person limit, contrary to what the above quoted terms state.

The two "funding accounts" they are referring to are the credit cards used to fund the account. Thus, you could have both a Mastercard and a Visa account and switch between them. This doesn't give you any additional benefits unless you are just trying to divy up miles between two different programs. I believe any one person can have only 1 account with up to five "teens".

be careful if your card is run by WILDCARD systems...

Wildcard systems handles the transactions and risk management, etc for US Bank's VisaBuxx as well as some other cards that people have used in here. I have been axed (as of today) by more than just my US Bank Vbx and I was doing alternate transactions all along, but they looked and got smart about it. I called because of a glitch that happened in my cash outs and found out the card has been closed. Got a call from a rather nice man who understood my pain and did not accuse me of fraud, but did say that the transactions in my account that he saw were consistent of that which makes the company view such things as "money laundering" or "other activity that is not what the card was intended for" That said, he accepted my claim that I had no idea I was not able to move money around the way I was doing it while making purchases at places like CVS, Radio Shack, pizza places or otherstores along the way. I just told me that the majority of my transactions were not cuttin' it with the intent of the bank he services.

So be it, I said... I could not dispute it nor was I going to try. Again, he was not a bad dude, he was just telling me it was not happenin' no more.

:(

Soooooo, if you have ANYTHING related to WILD CARD SYSTEMS, who runs the US Bank card and others,. be careful. The day may come, and know that they ARE looking harder than ever before. the guy even said, "Ok, so you are not a fraudster trying to launder money... so are you one of those guys who is trying to get airline points from something to do with all of this?" I said no.

BY THE WAY: Does anyone know if WACHOVIA VISA BUXX is one of their's? I could not figure out if they were or not!

if they were, that's going next! I now have nothing else left in terms of Visa Buxx cards.

That's sad, I'm on their "hit" list I'm sure. I wish I'da milked it like the dude with 27 cards. I'm sure he can't complain about his 1/4-1/2 million free miles. Oh well, free business class trip to Asia or Europe is still nice. Anyone know the replacement for VBX?

And how do we check Wildcard to see if our cards are monitored by them?

Just about every prepaid card is handled by them, so it maybe hard to get away. Look for their logo on the bottom of the page where you purchase/login to check your card.

Look at the logo at the top of this page.
http://corporate.wildcardsystems.com/

BTW, WildCard Systems was recently acquired by efunds, a company that specializes in risk management. The acqusition was completed on 1 July 2005 (right around the time everyone was having problems getting charged CA fees).

Does this include BofA VBx? Has anybody had those shut down? (other than the guy with 27)

yeah, at the bottom of web sites of GCs should be something saying WILD CARD or powered by or sponsored by...

I think Wachovia is NOT one, thank goodness for me, but I am outta luck everywhere else. They've got my number, they told me!

BofA GCs are closed to new members and so if you or someone you know is just getting into this, be careful.

Has US Bank always limited each parent account to 3 teen cards?

SCtrojan Aug 20, 2005 2:32 pm

All but one of my accounts were just closed today.

Here is the text

(MY TEEN)’s Bank of America Visa Buxx account has been closed, effective 8/20/2005. The balance on your Bank of America Visa Buxx account has been reduced to $0.

Please be sure that (MY TEEN) no longer uses the card and that you destroy the card.

If your prepaid card needs should change in the future, we hope that you will consider using Bank of America Visa Buxx services again.

Thank you from Bank of America Visa Buxx Cardholder Services.

Note: This is an outbound message only. You cannot reply to it. To reach us by secure e-mail, go to: Https://www.bankofamerica.com/visabuxx_contactus
We’ll get back to you within two business days.

It's stupid that they ask you to keep using them for prepaid cards in the future.

Bad news. How many cards did you have? And I wonder why they left one open.

SCtrojan Aug 20, 2005 5:48 pm

I had less than the 5 you were supposed to be allowed to have. Not sure why they're keeping 1 open, but it is consistent with the poster that had 27 cards.
