Been looking through this thread for a while now and can't find the answer to this: How do I go about getting a Visa Buxx card? Specifically with US Bank. Do you just visit the local branch?

If you can find a way, please let me know as they don't offer the U.S. buxx anymore. As far as the NW goes just google and fill out the application. Use the code in the wiki to waive the $5 fee.

I think it was in reddit(?) where I read that there are some who were able to submit applications with the help of their local bank branch managers. Without connections, they will likely offer you Contour account which has more fees than USbuxx account.

Up until very recently there was a hidden URL that linked to the USB new account page. That's how I got my three cards after the public link was no longer there. I just tried the hidden URL, and now it just brings you to the main login page, so that route is now dead.

You can't anymore, since somebody decided to post the hidden link and consequently, it was taken down hours later.

I wish you luck to be able to find somebody at a branch that is able to do it.

That link was available on several websites for months and many folks used it during that time to get the card including yours truly. It's a discontinued product. Sooner or later it had to disappear anyhow I suppose.

any datapoints with Target Redcard before I call in? Rec'd teen card and linked successfully but "your card issuer declined this transaction" attempting to add funds to Redbird. Even with Buxx alerts enabled for declined transactions I'm not receiving any alerts.

FYI, it can work...but from experience and many other reports Buxx cards are rarely ever allowed on BB/Serve/RedBird as online load debit cards after calling in to talk to CSR. Very YMMV.

That was my experience several months ago with a US Buxx card. I got the first online load through, but my second attempt failed and my BB account was (temporarily) shut down. I called and the CSR told me that I couldn't use that card because they couldn't match it with a corresponding checking account.
