My daily limit changed to $200 Friday.

Marathon Man Mar 25, 2007 12:23 pm

i had been booted by us bank VBx cards. (Still have my widely used WP Visa but not VB cards thru them. They thought I was evil cuz of what we do)

Anyway, that was over a year ago. Do you think I should reapply for a new one and try again?

I guess I'm not alone.

I just spoke with a CSR at US Bank for their VisaBuxx card. The daily limit is now 3 $200 withdrawls they said, versus the previous 3 $500 withdrawls. Since US Bank is somewhat out of my way now it makes this less of a value to me. I'm thinking of cancelling the cards I have.

from https://usbank.visabuxx.com/index.cf...9-4d0cc1a26eb3

Q: Can I use my Visa Buxx card at an ATM?
A: Yes. You can use your Visa Buxx card, along with your Personal Identification Number (PIN), to withdraw cash from any Visa ATM worldwide. There are ATM withdrawal limits set on the Visa Buxx card. You can withdraw a maximum of $200 each transaction. You are allowed to make three withdrawals within a 24-hour period.

and:

Q: Are there any charges associated with using the U.S. Bank Visa Buxx card?
A: There is no charge for making withdrawals from U.S. Bank ATMs. If you use a non-U.S. Bank ATM you will be charged $1.50 for ATM cash withdrawals. Non U.S. Bank ATMs may require you to pay an additional surcharge as well. There is no charge for loading your Buxx card from a U.S. Bank funding source. You will be charged $2.50 for loading your Buxx card from non-U.S. Bank credit cards or debit cards. Please check your cardholder agreement for complete pricing details.

so if you have a US Bank ATM nearby and you had loaded from a US Bank CC, then you are cool. Otherwise, yeah, it's not worth it.

Can you like stand there and take out $600 in 3 transactions or does it know you left the ATM and came back?
:D

I had my US Bank VBx cards shut down. Could try to apply for one again but just havent gotten around to it as there are no ATMS where I live/go daily that I know of.

I did all three on one PIN entry.

[QUOTE=alpinewhite;7495230]I did all three on one PIN entry.

That depends on the particular ATM. Unfortunately the closest that will allow me to do multible withdrawals with one PIN entry is 40 miles from my house.

I think the key is having a US Bank ATM nearby. I'm willing to pay $.005 per mile to load the card with a non-US Bank credit card. It's not quite as good as the free loads and $.004 per mile loads of yesteryear, but beggars can't be choosers.

Although it will likely never happen, I wish US Bank Visa Buxx would let you load their card with an AMEX.

why not just also do the AMEX TC card? It gets loaded by your amex up to $2700 and then you just WD the funds at the rate of $400 per day paying the fees, but racking up SPG pointage the cheap.

As for me, I have no US Bank ATMs here that I know of (Havent really looked hard) and if I were able to get a new USBank VBx card I do not know if i can do multi WDs. So if you have both those, whats the cost per 1000 mile?

Unless the T&C's have changed recently, funding a US Bank Visa Buxx card with a US Bank credit card and withdrawing from a US Bank ATM will cost you nothing (except for the one-time fee of opening the Visa Buxx account).

I always thought the AMEX TC was cost prohibitive (i.e., more than $0.015 per mile/point). I'll have to investigate this if it isn't.

What miles do you get if you load US Bank Visa Buxx with US Bank credit card?

AMEX TC cost $5 to load each $2750 and $2.50 to withdraw each $400. This averages about .00818/mile. If you consider Starwood bonus miles, average comes to .0065/mile. But it appears AMEX closes your account if they spot this activity.

Northwest is the major US carrier with a US Bank credit card. I think there are some foreign airlines (Korean Air comes to mind), but I've never pursued these foreign options.

Remember, the owner of the ATM is going to charge a fee unless you use AMEX ATM.

US Bank Visa Buxx

I've had these in the past and then let them expire. I can't recall if they can be used to purchase money orders at the USPS. Has anyone used the Visa Buxx card from US Bank successfully for this type of transaction?
