read this whole thread

and need some clarification

I have two kids that I got two NationsBank Buxx cards I believe a couple of years ago. They both have pins and are visa cards. It would appear that when I originally set these up I did it with a citibank mc which is still on the system. In theory my goal here, is to be able to load these cards with a credit card (have it appear as a purchase) then take my pin based debit cards as buy gift cards to load on to my serve card to then pay bills with?

so the wiki says not to use citi with NW buxx, my cards were initially set up with citi, does this still apply, and if so, the wiki does not state what cards to use?

1) Don't use citi means use everything but citi.....not sure why you would assume you need a list of every card that IS okay, when its easier to list cards that are not

2) Why would you buy gift cards when you can use this to straight load serve?

1) I think this is good news, so yes, i could use my starwood amex, it would be a purchase?
2) even better, yes

VizeL Jul 3, 2014 9:59 am

No, you cannot use amex or discover. Only mastercard and visa

got it, so alaskair bank of america visa should be fine and will show up as purchase?

No personal experience with that, but presumably yes. It may come through initially as a cash advance and then change though. Googling shows no issues as ca

I've noticed it pending CA before, but then clears as purchase. Wait until pending charges post.

There's a $2kish or so load limit per day on each card. I've find this locks out the card for about 24 hours, but I've seen it lag for closer to 48 before as well. Also, loads do not work with employee cards. Or at least it's never worked with any of my Ink Bold MC employee cards. Never tried with any Ink Bold Visas or the Ink Plus.

I also tried loading INK on my wife's 2 cards..was able to put 1K on 1 card, and getting an error on the 2nd...

CapOne Quick Silver data point on Pending

Not sure this has been reported as this is not among the popular cards to use. I did not find any posts reading from 3 months back on this topic.

The Pending charge does NOT drop off when the billing posted.

I had 1K funding on 6/29 and the billing was posted on 07/01, but the Pending remains. My CL is high enough so it does not make much of a difference. Will report back when the Pending falls off - probably would be sometime next week.

I don't have this issue when loading TD Buxx.

Quick question -- Hit my 2K spend limit on 6/27 (TD), will I be good to do another 1K today (7/3) or tomorrow (7/4). Just not sure if TD counts the original transaction date as 1 day...

Edit: They DO NOT include the transaction date, card got rejected.
